IS YOUR PROCESS SERVER PROPERLY SERVING YOUR DOCUMENTS?
Process Servers throughout the US are facing more scrutiny and rightfully so. How effective is your service firm?
Law Firms and professionals must take careful note in hiring service companies. As many of you know last year was a challenging year for many law firms who retained firms that were less than professional and ethical and engaged in illegal practices. Those practices resulted in criminal convictions as well as several process service firms going out of business. In addition many law firms were faced with significant issues including refilling of actions, and facing strict disciplinary proceedings for failing to have service properly effected in legal actions.
Despite the scrutiny in the industry a recent article in Daily Finance, an Online Money and Finance Site, Citigroup said that it may have to refile thousands of foreclosure affidavits.
The bank has had to review 10,000 affidavits executed before the company revamped its foreclosure process in February after a congressional hearing.
It was determined that 4,000 affidavits may not have been notarized and may have to be resubmitted. Find out more!
