Hello, hello, hello!
We are very excited to announce our 2012 EDEN Eves!!!! Chosen by our EDEN Eve Committee, these five powerhouses are gaymazing! You will be seeing our Eves out and about over the next six months leading up to San Francisco Pride. Meet them now!
Baby D aka Elizabeth Labedz is a Chicago native who moved to San Francisco after earning her Gender and Women's Studies degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A lifelong athlete and feminist youth development enthusiast, Elizabeth recently founded a girls' sports camp called Girls Reclaiming Revolutionary Recreational Learning (GRRRL). More information about the camp, which includes health, leadership, and social justice workshops, may be found at grrrlcamp.org.
Elizabeth is also a model, which is challenging because of how conscious she is of the unrealistic media portrayals of women. Because of her past struggle with an eating disorder, the Eden shoot was a great opportunity to be photographed by the feminist Sarah Deragon, who helps models feel comfortable just as they are. She also saw it as a great way to embrace her sexuality and to promote women-positive events in the Bay Area. Hannah Made in Ethiopia, Born in Boston, Living in LA... but my Heart is ALL BAY! I am a professional Advocate! I believe your Voice is Power! It's Infectious! It ignites the Movement for Change. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine majored in Sociology with a Pre-Med background. I'm a Medical Social worker with a strong background in Geriatrics and with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). I live by the quote "The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away." With that said, I am a Team- Leader for Habitat for Humanity International. I've serviced and Co-Lead housing builds in Ethiopia. Making that 'dash' between the birth date and end date-- perspicacious. Jenn Vh is a high fashion model and actress based out of Dallas, TX. Yolanda Clausen- I am from Catalina Island, which is very unique and ironically, I have an Identical twin. I am a fun loving, funny individual who enjoys life. Most importantly, I love being active.
I currently play flag football for an all women's league, the San Francisco "Rebels" and play recreation basketball for SFU. My wife and I also coach youth basketball in Sunnyvale, teaching the fundamentals to first and second graders. In my spare time I love painting, working out and playing pool.
I relocated to the Bay Area last April. Currently, I am working towards a degree in Criminal Justice while deciding between Law School or Law Enforcement. I am a Bartender at Yard House Santana Row, a company I have been with for years.
My wife and I are raising 3 gorgeous, creative, intelligent, positive children. Continuing to be great examples for our children, we have been working to create our own non-profit foundation. We assist people in our community with legal advice, environmental awareness and community support services. Our goal as a family is to soon open "Yoshay Kafe", a self-sustainable, solar powered café. Our cafe will host events in a lounge setting including poetry readings and art workshops for families. I know it may seem like a lot, but I am a strong intelligent woman. "I can do anything!" |
