"I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive."

February is Pet Dental Month
Did you know bacteria can travel through the gums into the bloodstream leading to life threatening infections in the heart, liver and kidneys!?
Common Signs of Dental Disease- Yellow or brown tarter buildup
- Red inflamed gums
- Bad breath
- Loose or broken teeth
What You Can Do
- Raw bones and meat
- The naturally occurring enzymes in raw
bones also help to eliminate food buildup, and create an acidic environment that is
naturally repellent to gingival bacteria.
- Supplements and chews
- Flossies, antlers, Zukes Z-Ridge and others all helpscrape plaque and tarter from the teeth.
- Brushing at home
- Only use paste made for pets.
- You can use a soft toothbrush, finger brush or gauze wrapped around your finger to remove the plaque and tarter.
- Regular dental checkups
- With your vet
- With a dental hygienist if the teeth only need a cleaning.

The Dog (Cat) House
Like in our previous newsletters, we are going to fill everyone in on another one of our furry kids . . .
Whiskers - The very furry little kitten!
We found Whiskers on a cold winter night in the middle of the street off of HWY 58 at a tender age of 8 weeks old! When we found her, her eyes had been crusted shut with blood and was fighting an upper respiratory infection. Some of you got a chance to see her when she was at her worst - check her out in the picture now!
The day Whiskers was able to move around and was over her infection, it was the best thing that happened to Mouser (and us). Whiskers was the answer to Mouser's scratching, fighting and biting - Now she finally had someone to keep her on her toes. These days Whiskers is the one that chases Mouser around. We love her, though waking up at two in the morning with a furry squirrel tail in your face isn't that appetizing.
She definitely is the baby of our pack now and having her survive her infection definitely makes her a little special!
Well that's all of them=) These are our furry kids, the reason for our shop, the foods and treats we carry and why we enjoy what we do!
