Health, Fitness, and Nutrition Tips

"Smart" Tip for your Brain

It is important to find time for your brain to wind down and rest. Here's why: Cortisol is a chemical your body produces when under stress; it is deadly to the brain. When you don't let the brain escape from the pressure cooker on a regular basis the stress hormone builds up and the neurons and neurotransmitters break down. The brain will then compensate for the damage by dipping into it's important reserves. Resting the brain periodically is vital for keeping it in peek condition.

Fresh is Best

Many leading brands of canned foods contain BPA-- a toxic chemical linked to reproductive abnormalities, neurological effects, heightened risk of breast and prostate cancers, diabetes, heart disease and other serious health problems. So, ideally avoid canned foods entirely and stick to fresh fruits and vegetables, or switch over to brands that use glass containers.

Golf Tip

Here's a well-worn tip for all of us slicers courtesy of Paul Segerlund from the August 1970 issue of Golf Magazine. Aim your club face directly at your target, and set your body parallel left of your target. Before you start your swing, slightly move your right hip to the right- it should feel like your turning your right pocket behind you. This allows you to take the club away slightly to the inside, making a fundamentally correct anti-slice, inside-out swing. Try this at the range first and if it works, use it on the golf course.

Have a great game!

What our Clients are Saying

"What a difference this work-out has made in my life! Within the first six weeks I immediately noticed an increase in muscle mass and strength. Being strong makes it easier for me to do a better job at my work and to do the physical activities I like to do on weekends. Yes, I'm a confessed "weekend warrior" but now I'm ready for it!"
