 February is the month of Valentines' Day and has been designated the "Month of Love". Love is defined "as an intense emotional attachment to; a deep and tender connection". And on this day we all make a concerted effort to show other people how much we care and love them.  The question I propose is do you deserve to be emotionally attached to yourself? Of course you do.

A person who I had been coaching came to me and stated "I am unable to accept love. I find that I distance myself from my husband emotionally. Intellectually I love him but I am so afraid to accept his love. If I give myself to him I am afraid that he will leave me. I learned growing up that if you are loved by someone that it ends up either that you are hurt or abandoned." I asked "do you love yourself?" She quickly answered without hesitation "no". "I was told that no one would ever love me."  Her answers didn't surprise me. Once that core belief was exposed it was easy to work to shift her negative rooted beliefs of not being loveable to new beliefs that she deserved to be loved. She formed a solid loving relationship with herself and today her marriage is stronger because of her commitment to herself.

The ability to love has to start within. You must first remove the old beliefs that have served as barriers and then demonstrate to yourself that you deserve to be loved. So this is a great time to take a few minutes to recognize the relationship you have with you. I have told many that in order to have successful relationship with others you first have to have one with you. I would like you to reflect on one of my quotes from my Facebook "Mental Food" series, "How we conduct our relationships with self is a direct indicator of how we conduct relationships with others". A successful relationship with self is a training ground for all other relationships. If you cannot have a successful relationship with you how can you develop the skills to have thriving relationship with others? As you recognize the degree of relationship you have with you, also look at what skills you are lacking to make it stronger and more fulfilling.

Here are 3 tips that you can do to express your desire for a deeper and more caring connection.

1. Write a personal love note to yourself and confirm in writing your attachment to self.

2. Pick up a bouquet of flowers for you to remind yourself of your deep connection and commit to you.

3. Treat yourself to a spa treatment. Take this time to relax and reflect on how special you. "Me Time" is essential to a healthy relationship with you and improvement of physical health. You deserve it. 

If you follow these 3 tips then you will come out with a stronger relationship with self, a feeling a deserving love and the ability to have more fulfilling relationship with others.

 Is Changing the Past Possible?

Echkhart Tolle, a contemporary spiritual teacher stated in his book, A New Earth, in his discussion of transformation, "if the structures of the human mind remain unchanged we will always end up re-creating fundamentally the same world, the same evils, the same dysfunction". All of us have been told that changing our past was not possible, but if we do not change our remembrance of the past then we will continue to perceive, act and feel the same way over and over again. Is it possible to change the memory of the past? The answer today is "yes". It is possible to change the recording of a past event or a memory.

 

In 2000 I developed a method to help reduce the impact of flashbacks, a common symptom and normal experience after going through an overwhelming or traumatic life event. A flashback is basically the recording of the experienced life event which begins to involuntarily re-play. The flashback can be emotionally painful, intrusive scary or even terrorizing.  The method was called Rapid Reduction Technique or RRT for short. It was used, taught and studied with survivors of severe childhood abuse, trauma and combat who were experiencing flashbacks. The success rate for those who participated in RRTwas over 95%.

 RRT was utilized in different environments; inpatient and outpatients hospital settings as well as in private practices. During the last ten years of utilizing and studying RRT® there was no time to develop improvements. Now that I have begun my private practice and I have taken the time to go back to school to gain more knowledge I have seen where RRT® has needed to evolve to improve results.  

Rapid Reduction Technique 2.0 - RRT 2.0 is here today. RRT 2.0 is a more effective enhanced version to the original RRT. Everyone is influenced by past life experiences, this is what drives how people think and act. Now RRT 2.0 works for anyone who is just bothered, consciously or subconsciously, by a memory that is influencing how they function today. Not only does RRT 2.0 decrease the intensity of a recollection and disconnect the trigger, this new method assists in uncovering the root cause. This technique can disempower embedded core beliefs, shift these beliefs to a new mindset, dissolve resistance, and disable the associated emotions.

RRT 2.0 takes longer than the quickness of the original RRT but the benefits of RRT 2.0 are so much more. RRT 2.0 frees you from past barriers that impede you from achieving your full potential and success. When I work with a client we work on one memory per session. With this anyone can free themselves from the grip of an old memory which has influenced their present thoughts and behavior and obstructed personal and professional growth.

"I had an opportunity to experience the new RRT 2.0. I had been experiencing horrible flashbacks due to a traumatic incident I had two weeks ago. I asked Dr. Bill to help me out because I could not function in my life because the flashbacks kept intruding into my mind making my life unbearable and I was not functioning. The change in the perpetrator was huge. I was able to take away the overwhelming ABSOLUTE POWER that the perpetrator had on me mentally. Today I did not have any more flashbacks. In one session I am free from what has been haunting and causing chaos in myself and my life for the past two weeks.  It was an awesome experience."
