Thanksgiving is a Time for Gratitude

 

In our fast pace world many do not stop and take stock in what they are grateful for in their lives. Gratefulness has become a "hidden factor" in modern society. Focus is generally on what we do not have rather than what we do have. Gratitude appears to be a strong determinant of people's well-being. 

Numerous studies suggest that grateful people are more likely to have higher levels of happiness and lower levels of stress and depression. Participants who have engaged in gratitude studies showed increases in their experiences of positive emotion immediately following the exercise. An interesting fact about gratitude is it is not an act but a specific way to feel. As I have always said "feeling is healing".

The definition of gratitude is having thankfulness for what you have in the moment. Another definition for gratitude that I like is appreciation. Appreciation is the recognition of the quality, value, significance, or goodness of people, opportunities and things in your life.

You will learn new positive skills, like the RRT, enhance your personal authority to empower your life. Share with others experiencing the same issue, gain knowledge and move forward into a successful and a more fulfilling life.

                             A Tool for Assessing Your Gratitudes


 

Take the time to make a list of the gratitudes you have today. This exercise will enlighten, energize, focus, inspire and transform you. The process will help you overcome "victim mindset", sense of lacking and feelings of loss.

One way to get in touch with your gratitudes is to spend what I call "me time". This is spending uninterrupted time with you that will help you clear your mind of the old so you can let in the new.

On my website I have a Relaxation and Meditation Timer to assist you in having freedom with you. Just click here MEDITATION TIMER TOOL, pick some soothing music, set the timer and open yourself to your present gratitude. Once you have completed your "me time", write down all the gratitudes you came up with on a list and start each one with "I am grateful for......" Once you compiled the list read over the list and take each gratitude into your heart.
