PROGRESS!
In October, Power Trip Energy transcended the 1 MW (MegaWatt) threshold in terms of total PV capacity we have installed. To put that in perspective, the single largest PV system in the state is owned by PSE and is 500 KW. Our clients in aggregate now have a PV system twice that size here on the Olympic Peninsula. To everyone who contributed to this effort - you are awesome!
Recent data from PSE indicates that there are 120 grid-tied customer-
owned renewable energy systems in Jefferson County. This equates to 0.8% of the electrical customers in the county. Their next highest per county in their service territory is Kittitas County with a rate of 0.3%. We are on the lookout for nation-wide data on these rates, but have not found it yet. If we in Jefferson County can install an additional 30 grid-tied PV systems next year, we will reach the 1% threshold. This is our goal for 2012! |

Updated satellite imagery
We recently noticed that Google maps updated satellite images of the Olympic Peninsula very recently, perhaps with images from August or September, judging by the status of projects on which we are working. So if (like us) you have been waiting for those PV modules you have installed to appear on your roof, now is a good time to check back. For instance our own shop's array was installed first week of July, and is visible by zooming in on our shop Click here to see it! |

New Washington-made Products
We will soon be getting additional inverters from Silicon Energy which will give us greater design flexibility with these modules, and we will soon be getting our first pv modules from a new manufacturer in Washington - Itek Energy. Itek has also announced an 1800 watt inverter. Stay tuned for more details once we have the opportunity to get our hands on these products. We are proud to support this growing Washington industry |

Facebook
While some of us here have been enjoying catching up with old friends on FaceBook for a while now, we have not been sure of the value for using this tool for our business. We have taken the plunge and have now created a FaceBook page for Power Trip Energy and think it will be useful for its event calendar and its photo albums. If you use FaceBook, please like us in order to see our current events.

Let us know if you have any suggestions for how this might be useful to you. Also let us know if you find FaceBook offensive (an opinion that may not be in the minority among our clients!) |

Solarize Kitsap and Solarize Bainbridge Now!
After enjoying success with Solarize Port Townsend (84 kw) and Solarize Sequim (50 kw) Solarize Kitsap and Solarize Bainbridge Now are currently underway with enrollments open until January 31, 2012. Response has been good, but not yet on the pace of the smaller communities to the north. We are still learning how to get the good word out in Kitsap and would welcome your suggestions.
