Great Peninsula Future Festival
www.greatpeninsulafuturefestival.org
This coming weekend is the Great Peninsula Future Fest, July 31 and Aug 1. We've had a great time at this event in the past. The first two years it was at Port Gamble which was beautiful but had some logistical problems with parking for the large number of people who came. This year will be the first year at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in East Bremerton, and it should be pretty easy in terms of access and if anyone wants to camp there for both Saturday and Sunday.
We'll be doing our "Spin Your Meter Backwards" at 11 AM both Saturday and Sunday, and someone will be at our booth all weekend.
Locally, we don't have that many outdoor sustainability events with renewable energy education, good food, fun for kids, and good live music. The weather is pretty dependable and nice during this weekend. It's really more of a party than anything else. We hope to see you there. |

Made in Washington Inverter now available.
Silicon Energy is producing a battery-less inverter package to go with the Cascade PV modules, the new made in Washington solar panels. In projects when we use both made in Washington modules and inverter, the state will pay an annual incentive of 54 cents per kwh. This really tweaks the economics and shows returns we've never seen in our state before. These returns are more like what people in California have been accustomed to getting with their grid-tied pv systems. Compare that 54 cents per kwh to the 15 cents the state pays on other equipment, and to the 10 cents per kwh you save if you are a PSE customer. If this is what you have been waiting for, wait no longer. |
SunPower Explosion on Clallam PUD Grid
No, not an actual explosion, rather a rally of SunPower projects being installed in Sequim and Port Angeles. These three projects alone (pictured below) account for 26 KW of SunPower installed in June and July on the Clallam PUD grid. SunPower's recent price decreases, along with their industry leading efficiency make them irresistible for the tech savy clients looking for the best product available. It is great to see the numbers these large arrays are producing by getting them installed just in time for the long days and awesome summer weather.
