Pacesetters Celebrate Campaign Success with Service Opportunity
|  The 2012 Campaign Pacesetters gathered on Sept. 27 for a celebration breakfast, where they shared campaign success stories and worked together to help feed hungry kids in Lawrence. The group filled 210 backpacks with BackSnack Packs provided by Harvesters, which will be distributed by Trinity Episcopal Church to elementary students. Pacesetters campaign results will be announced on October 15. Members of the United Way Roger Hill Youth Center's Youth Volunteer Corps installed a Born Learning Trail at Deerfield Park in Lawrence on Sept. 22, as part of YVC's Celebration of Service. The trail includes 10 stops, where children and adults engage in early-learning activities.

Take Part in Make a Difference Day
Join with hundreds of volunteers in Douglas County, and millions more across the globe, by taking part in Make a Difference day on Saturday, Oct. 27. The United Way Roger Hill Volunteer Center will be participating in this national day of service by coordinating volunteer projects throughout Lawrence and Douglas County.
Volunteers are invited to sign up as individuals, families or groups. In the past, area businesses have joined the effort as a way of building teamwork and promoting community involvement within the workplace. Other participants have included KU clubs, civic organizations and church groups. It's a perfect way to spend your fall Saturday! Sign up today!

KIDS VOTING is seeking 300 volunteers to staff 50 polling sites on Election Day, Tues., Nov. 6. Shifts are available early morning, late afternoon or evening; two volunteers (ages 16 and up) are needed for each shift. Sign up today!
