Fundraising Campaign
2010 Annual Fundraising Drive
(November 1st - December 31st)

This year, November through December, we are asking our supporters to help us promote literacy among African-American children by making a donation to Brown Baby Reads. Click here to go to the donation page

Brown Baby Reads has been able to make an impact thanks to the thousands of volunteer hours, in-kind donated services and donations.  Special thanks to generous financial contributions by foundations, businesses, and individuals like you.

In order to sustain and expand our programs, we need your help!  Your donation will help to purchase books for elementary school classroom libraries, further develop our literacy website for children, fund book donations directly to children and parents to help them develop their own home libraries, and expand our programs into new schools and communities.

Increasing Awareness of the Cause
This month, we are working to bring a greater awareness of our cause.  In addition to our book selections, we are posting weekly statistics and tips on our facebook page in order to increase awareness of what we needs to happen to ensure that African-American children succeed in the area of literacy.

You can help by sharing with friends, colleagues, and family members about our website and facebook page a few different ways:
(1) Tell your friends about the resources.  Word of mouth has been our greatest means to promote the website.
(2) You can also forward this email to your friends, family and colleagues.  There is a link at the bottom of this email to make it convenient to forward this newsletter.
(3) Become a fan of our facebook page and suggesting it to your friends.

One of our organizational goals is to put the literacy of our African-American children as a prioritized issue for us as parents, teachers,  communities, and a nation. You can help us achieve that goal. Thank you for the support of the cause and  our organization.
Again, if you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to email us at feedback@brownbabyreads.com
Sincerely,

The Brown Baby Reads Staff
