Greetings!

Happy Fall!

October book selections are posted.  Click here for this month's  book selections or here for the book database Make sure the children in your life are reading.  We will continue to search for and pass along new titles of books that reflect positive images of African-American children.

New Age Groupings
Based on your feedback and advice from our advisors, we have grouped the books differently in order to categorize books more accurately.  Instead of using a K-2nd grade group, we now will group Kindergarten and 1st grade together.  The change in age grouping will better serve parents and teachers.  The new age groupings are effective for this month's book selections.

Improved Search Capabilities in Database
database BannerThank you for your feedback.  Based on your suggestions, we have expanded the search capabilities of the database.  Originally, you could search by title, author, or grade level.

Now, you can search for new releases or by keywords.  You can find a book series or search for books about "famous" and "not-as-famous" African-American people. We are committed to providing a resourceful website, and welcome your continued feedback.
CocoaKidsRead.com is coming soon
Cocoa Kids Read, our website for elementary-aged children, will be launching soon. We will have a beta site tested with a small group of students before launching the full program late this fall.  The website is an interactive literacy website with a cultural emphasis.  We are excited about the site and look forward to serving countless children as they build literacy skills and esteem concurrently. Be on the look out for the site late this fall.
Again, if you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to email us at feedback@brownbabyreads.com
Sincerely,
