Greetings!
Energy and excellence be with you in the New Year. We invite you to join Sonia Ross and myself for an intro evening in massage, this Thursday, January 6 from 7:00-8:30pm. Sonia Ross, SBBTI Level I instructor and Team Kalyra cyclist, has recently been acknowledged by the Santa Barbara News Press as a winner of Lifestyle Sports Athletes of the Year, chosen by fellow athletes for her cycling team's winning Race Across America (article). We're thrilled to have her skills as an athlete, bodyworker and instructor in the classroom with our students. Athletics is one of many areas in which our graduates are creating their niche and performing with excellence. We invite you to read their testimonials and consider what is possible for yourself in the New Year.
Blessings, Katie Mickey SBBTI Director |

SBBTI congratulates Kaleo for his work with Olympic Gold Medalists
"I specialize in deep myofascial release bodywork. For some years now I have had the privilege to have Olympic Beach Volleyball Gold Medalists Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhouser as my clients. Todd was quoted in USA TODAY saying, "The hardest workout of my day is getting crushed by Kaleo!" Athletes need their myofascial tissue muscles and tendons to be loose for full extension and to prevent injury. My bodywork is like putting an invisible sheet of body armor on! One of my female clients, Brooke Hansen, an AVP volleyball player, says my work benefits her progress on the court and she is winning more and more games."

SBBBTI Graduates share their stories
"Learning massage and Access Energy has taught me to listen to what my body needs nutrient-wise. I can now adequately fuel my muscles to supply energy I need for my run. I've been able to run harder and longer. In receiving bodywork twice each week in class I've relaxed my muscles so I'm not sore anymore. The most profound thing that's happened to me from receiving and giving bodywork is that I no longer have lower abdomen pain. I've tried everything, including doctors, to relieve that and nothing was helpful. I'm now able to go the distance and run harder and longer without the pain." -Rebecca Kurta, current 550 Student, Santa Barbara Marathoner
