With a variety of styles from corrective, pain relief bodywork to techniques with a subtle energy background, Level II courses can serve as unique modalities to use in your massage practice as well as tools to integrate into your Swedish.

Here at SBBTI, we enjoy being able to present you with new opportunities to expand your bodywork practice or develop the foundations for one. We want to keep you informed of our upcoming classes, free introductions and any other events we plan as our programs expand and grow. In this newsletter are this month's upcoming classes as well as a peek at what we will be offering next month. REFLEXOLOGY with Katie Mickey April 13 - May 13, & May 20 (Mon, Wed) 5:30pm-9:30pm
This 60-hour course offers a blend of reflexology and
myofascial techniques for improving overall vitality, pain elimination, and
resolution of many common pathologies.
Distal stimulation on the reflex points can affect
improved function in all the body systems, via release of metabolic wastes in
the tissues and stimulation of subtle electromagnetic channels that correlate
with the tissues of the feet and hands.
Students will learn to:
- Interface with the
reiterative, zonal and referral maps of reflexology
- Enhance the function
of all eleven body systems
- Apply an assortment of
techniques using thumbs, fingers and full hand contact to release blockages in the bipolar currents,
flush metabolic wastes, and unwind facial binding within the tissues of
the feet and hands
- Increase mental
alertness, relaxation and pain relief

fundamental change with chronic disease conditions.

DEEP TISSUE
INCLUDES PALPATORY ANATOMY with Mary Sullivan & Erick Hudson April 21 - June 9 (Tue, Thu) 9:00am-1:30am
This 80-hour
course offers fundamental skills in deep tissue, myofascial and polarity
therapy techniques. The course offers a
larger energy based framework for the application of structural release techniques
and assessment. Practitioners will
learn numerous techniques to make their work more effective and easeful.
Students will learn techniques that:

Cultivate touch and safe
biomechanics, utilizing QiGong stance and presence cultivation
-
Gentle, sustained and non-invasive
utilizing fingers, knuckles, fists, forearms and elbows
- Release tension through body
positioning
- Address common complaints and
injuries
- Empower clients in between
sessions, including stretches and
strengthening exercises
Honors the body's capacity for
change and adaptation
listen deeply to the
client's anatomic nervous system response. Also includes palpatory instruction in anatomy, described below.

PALPATORY ANATOMY
with Erick Hudson April 21-28, & May 26 (Tue, Thu) 9:00am-1:30am
An 18-hour
course that covers the musculo-skeletal anatomy necessary for the practice of Deep
Tissue massage, and to enhance the effectiveness of any bodywork modalities. The course also
communicates how muscles work, what gives rise to their dysfunction and how to
enhance their function through the application of Deep Tissue Therapy.
Students will learn:
- Palpation and identification of the major
skeletal muscles and their attachment sites

Palpation and identification of major tendons,
ligaments and bony landmarks

Assessment of muscle function and actions
-
Directional movement of joints
-
Synergistic agonist and antagonist relationships of
muscles
