A Big Thanks to All Of You for Your Business!

Timely information for the upcoming season!

We had a good show for Wednesday's lecture presented by Dr. Sharon Douglas from the CT Agricultural Station. Her talk was packed tight with information on plant disease, suggested treatments (cultural, biological and chemical controls) and what to be watching for based on 2010's weather patterns.

We all left with a better sense of how to identify a variety of common diseases and ways in which they spread. And we have an idea of what to look for when suspecting anthracnose or phytopthora, and the differences of Powdery vs. Downy Mildews.

Missed it? Visit PDIO (Plant Disease Information Office) and pull up her talk (under 'Presentations')  to help prepare for the upcoming season.  The CT Ag. Station has experts there to help you correctly diagnose problems in the landscape whether injuries from cultural practices or disease infestations on stressed plants. Keep their number handy - you never know when you'll need their help (203-974-8601 - 8:30-4:30 M-F).
