Plant Health Care to the Rescue!
Take a look at a new product line we carry  - Plant Health Care, or PHC. Known by many to be a superior line packed with microbial bacterium that improve physical properties of the soil and add Mycorrhizal fungi that radically increase plants' ability to thrive. To start, take a look at PHC Bio-Pak Plus and PHC Tree Saver:

BioPak PlusBroad-leaved evergreens like Boxwood, Rhododendron & Holly can look tired and beat up after being on the receiving end of winter's drying winds and freezing temperatures. While protection from burlap and anti-dessicant sprays work well, we don't always have time to protect each shrub. If you've gotten calls about yellowing leaves on broad-leaved evergreens, you may want to check for live buds and scratch branches for signs of green before you think about replacing the plant. If you see signs of life you can help them recover with BioPak Plus 3-0-20 by Plant Health Care.

This water-soluble product helps plants recover from winter stress and contains six micronutrients needed for new root growth in the spring.

· Contains 7% chelated iron to green up plants, as well as beneficial bacteria
· Improves root function without stimulating top growth
· Provides soluble nutrients in acidic, neutral and alkaline soils

PHC Tree SaverSpring is the season for planting and transplanting and PHC Tree Saver is designed to reduce the stress plants go through as they struggle to become established in their new site. It not only helps stimulate root growth, but improves the soils moisture content and fertility. It is mixed into the soil at planting. Five species of mycorrhizal fungi and six species of beneficial bacteria are packed into this formula to improve plant nutrition and provide sustainable soil fertility.
  • Helps plants mitigate adverse environmental stresses such as drought, salinity and extremes of soil pH
  • Improves absorption of water and minerals from the soil
  • Stimulates native and inoculated VAM fungal growth and colonization of roots
  • Contains Terra-Sorb planting gel (which hold moisture and releases it when soils are dry)

Check out the others the next time you come in, or call if you need more information:
PHC Plant Saver 4-7-4 Restores soil fertility with mycorrhizae and micronutrients.
PHC Flower Saver Plus 3-4-3 Inoculant used to reduces heat and drought damage.
PHC for Flowers 12-16-12 Improves health, color and vigor of flowering plants, water     soluable.
PHC Healthy Start 3-4-3 Granular, slow-release, beneficial bacteria, no burning.
PHC for Azaleas & Rhododendron 3-4-4 For acid-loving plants, contains elemental sulfur.
Staff Picks                              Aaron's favorite? Paperbark Maple
Chuck's Paperbark Maple
Paperbark Maple
Aaron
has worked for Planters' Choice since 2004 at our Watertown yard. He is an important figure in running our potting crews for perennials and also does a great job in sales out in the yard.

Asked what one of his favorite plants is he said "Paperbark Maple! (Acer griseum). The new leaves emerge a fresh green in spring; its cinnamon colored peeling bark and red fall color are great features that make it perfect for a specimen tree. It's size helps it fit easily into the landscape in anyone's home."

It also happens to be one of Chuck's favorites, as seen at left.
