Up for a Challenge?                                                      Winter I.D.
winter i.d.Have you ever met a potentially new customer in the middle of winter and been expected to identify the plants in their landscape? Easier for some, quite difficult for others. It's a skill worth having as it also helps you to appreciate the year-round beauty of trees and shrubs.

Try to I.D. these four woody plants using buds, bark and fruit. Be as specific as possible - botanical names only- Genus and Species. Cultivar when appropriate.
Please email your answers here. Winning answers will be put into a hat and one winner drawn. The prize? A 48oz. Ready-To-Use container of Bobbex!
Find out  next week if you've won - Good Luck!

Need to brush up on your skills? Then head up to the Boston Convention Center for New England Grows 2010 Feb 3-5th.  There are more than 30 educational sessions over the course of 3 days and it just so happens -The Essentials of Woody Plant Identification is just one of them. It's a big show with hundreds of exhibitors. If you've never gone you should definitely check it out!
