Welcome!
A special thank-you to Jennifer Stennes. Having resigned her position as president and wanting to spend more time with her family, the Chamber thanks her for all the time and effort she put into the organization.
The Chamber board has agreed on two important dates and is excited to announce the Annual Banquet will be held on April 12th at 6:30 p.m. at the new Rivers Restaurant. The restaurant along with Sweet River Bakery will be providing food. The Chamber needs nominations for "Citizen of the Year" and "Business of the Year". Please take the time to honor these special people by taking your nominations to the Pateros City Hall.
The Chamber also decided to move "Pateros Days" to May 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Included in this special event will be the "City Wide Garage Sale", "Safety Day" and "Business Appreciation Day". The town of Pateros, local businesses, the Pateros Fire Department and the Chamber will be partnering in hosting this event. If anyone would like to participate, please visit City Hall for more information.
A new Chamber president will be voted into office at the March 17th meeting. All community members, whether you own a business or not, are welcome to attend our meetings, held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at noon at City Hall. Local businesses cater lunch. We not only have a great time, we welcome guest speakers and learn how to make our community even better.

City News
By Linda Marsh, City Clerk
Operations
& Maintenance Agreement The City has been working with Douglas PUD on a Recreation Operations and Maintenance Agreement (O&M) as part of the Wells Dam relicensing process. The agreement covers Memorial Park, Peninsula Park, Winter Boat Launch, Methow Boat Launch and Riverside Drive Access. Douglas PUD would pay the City to provide all administration and routine O&M at each park facility. In return, the City would grant Douglas PUD an easement to continue using the park facilities as Wells Project recreation site. The City will continue to do the normal maintenance on the parks and will be obligated to meet the general O&M performance standards set by the agreement. The City is also pursuing the acquisition of sufficient water rights from Douglas PUD to serve the recreation facilities. Douglas PUD would provide $60,000 annually for the agreement.

Hello Pateros,
We want to thank the voters of Pateros for your support of our students and school. The M & O Levy will help us sustain the quality programs and facilities for our students. Thank you to the levy committee and the media for helping us inform and communicate with the community.
Pateros students are busy! Congratulations to: · Jonathan McBride and the Pateros High School Students participating in All State. Lena Howe, Jordan Paget, Kimberly Vazquez, and Megan McChristain represented us well. The band also did very well at the Washington State Music Educator's Conference. Well done! We look forward to hearing them at the Secondary Concert on March 11th. · Bill Haley and Brian Ginter for a great wrestling season. Best wishes to Dalton Ginter, Juan Gomez and Ali Valdovinos who qualified for state this week, and to Lincoln Haas and Ricky Heen who will go as alternates. · John Ellis and Sheri Mortimer with the girls' basketball season. Best wishes at regional and hopefully state. · Mike Hull and Dale Zahn with the boys' basketball season. Best wishes at regional and hopefully state. · Joy McCulley and the knowledge bowl team for a great season. Best wishes at regional and hopefully state.
What a busy month, what a supportive staff and dedicated students. Pateros shines. Amazing to think there are only 92 students in our high school and we have this kind of participation. We are cheering!
The health and safety projects continue. There will be people working on the building on the weekends and during spring break. It is encouraging to see the progress.
