Welcome!
Hi all! Fall is officially here to stay. I only packed my warm weather
clothes up yesterday! Most of us business owners welcome the Fall weather, but
want to shut the door on the slow winter business. Or you are like
me...you enjoy the winter rec time, but not so much the frigid weather
that accompanies it?
As we brace ourselves for winter, I am encouraging
everyone I talk with not to go into hibernation and forget the local business
owners around the area. Not just in Pateros, but the entire Methow Valley and
Brewster businesses. Support local. Buy local. Keep those tax dollars in the
area.
Enjoy the fall colors and have a great October.

Pateros Historical
Museum
 The Pateros Historical
Museum committee had
their first meeting to discuss renovation of the old fire hall and what type of
displays would be feasible. Along with
the historical museum displays will be a small gift shop and visitors
information center. Renovation on the
building will include: Removing the
three roll up garage doors and replacing them with one energy efficient door
and an entry door and window in the place of the other two doors, put in new
lights and a heating system. The old
jail cells will be kept in tack for displays. The types of displays
planned are: model of old Pateros, fruit
industry, fur trading, mining, Apple Pie Jamboree, shipping, fishing, logging,
Native Americans and Wells Dam.
If you are interesting in
sharing your ideas on the Pateros
Historical Museum

School News
From the Superintendent, Lois Davis

Hello
Pateros,
Pateros students are making
us proud. They have started the year
with a strong focus in their academics, participation in school activities, and
resounding school spirit. The teachers
and students in the classroom are actively engaged in learning. Congratulations
to the FFA on their showing at the Okanogan County Fair and the Yakima State
Fair (see the articles inside). The
sports teams, pep band, and cheerleaders are representing us well. Pateros students have a clear history of
aiming high and working hard. It is a
pleasure to welcome new staff and new students to the Pateros team.
