Welcome!
It seems that most of us are preparing ourselves for the fall season already.
Now that most kids are back in school and the summer months are coming to end we
are now already thinking about....winter. Planning, prepping and deciding where
we will decide to advertise in anticipation of the winter travelers. The
question of the year seems to be "How can we get them to our town?" Many of us
are brainstorming and wondering how we can maximize the customers and revenue in
our businesses without blowing our budgets completely.
There are many
effective advertising choices between local newspapers and fall/winter/spring
guides that are in the works, as well as many other venues you can choose from.
This can be a stressful decision as there are so many choices and some that cost
much more than others. As a business owner I would caution you to research all
of your choices carefully.
We also want to let everyone know in advance,
that we have moved our November meeting from Wednesday the 18th to Tuesday the
17th due to conflicting meeting schedules. We hope to see everyone next month at
our October 21st meeting.

City News
Museum Committee Formed
Fall is just around the corner and kids are heading back to
school. The city has begun work on their 2010 Annual Budget and hope to adopt it
at the November 16, 2009 council meeting. Plans are beginning to look as though
there will be no big changes in revenues, expenditures or personnel in 2010.
One new item in the budget will be a small amount of funds to start renovations
on the old fire hall to make way for a new historical museum. A Museum
Committee has been formed and the group will be meeting in September to discuss
the feasibility of a museum, what type of exhibits, where to get exhibits, etc.
If you are interested on serving on this committee you should contact city hall
at pateros@swift-stream.com.
