Yard Sale!

Welcome!

As students finish school all over the state families begin to travel. As the summer season officially begins for many families they will be out on the road. Staycation is the newest craze! This will bring many tourists to the area and there will be those that are just passing through. Most business owners are looking forward to a busy and productive season. With a number of events on the calendar, these events also bring tourists and locals into our businesses. Coming in just a few weeks is the city wide yard sale. This event has been moved to the beginning of the summer in hopes to bring more people and revenue to the town earlier in the season. There is still plenty of time to register with the City of Pateros for the yard sale. By registering, this will get you on a map that will let people know where to go!

As a business owner, I am looking forward to seeing what this summer season will bring to our town's economy. Pateros is a small town with a lot of heart and much more to offer than meets the eye. And although our country is up against economic lows that have never been seen, Pateros and the surrounding area has real estate, business, and entrepreneurial opportunities that will help us weather the storm.

Please don't forget to buy from and support your local and fellow businesses this summer.  Have a great June!

Pateros Chamber of Commerce

May General Meeting

If you've never sat in on one of our meetings, you're missing out on great food, informal atmosphere, informative guest speakers and updates on Chamber happenings.

The May General Meeting was held Wednesday, May 20th.  Our guests were Julie Spedman and Roger Harnack of The Chronicle.  They discussed a special serial story they will be presenting this summer to promote literacy.  The Chronicle is partnering with local libraries, including the Pateros Library.

We discussed recent events, as well as the upcoming events: City Wide Yard Sale on June 26th and 27th, Apple Pie Jamboree on July 17th - 19th, and Dragon Boat Races on July 18th.

Thanks to all who attended.  Next meeting is at noon on Wednesday, June 17th at City Hall.  We hope to see you there!

Pateros Garage Sales

City Logo
Yard sales always spring up during the spring and summer and Pateros does have a few rules pertaining to holding a garage sale.

Anyone having a yard sale shall make written application to the City Clerk at least two days prior to start of sale.   There is a fee of three dollars required for each separate sale.  No individual seller, household, home address, group or family shall be permitted to have more than three yard sales per calendar year. Signs advertising the sale may be posted only during the duration of the sale and must be removed at the end of the sale and should not be posted on electrical poles.

Once a year the city holds a CITY WIDE YARD SALE which will be held June 26 & 27th this year.  There will be no fee to hold a sale at this time but you do need to complete an application at city hall to get your name and location on the maps.  The maps will be distributed to local merchants on Friday for garage sale people to pick up.

From the Superintendent, Lois Davis

Pateros School
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2009.  It is exciting to hear the different plans students have for their next steps forward.  The Pateros School year is ending with celebrations.  What a great year.  The staff and students have walked through tough times and celebrated many accomplishments.  It will be a year to remember.

We are starting our building projects on June 15.  Quantum Engineering is meeting the contractors to start on the lighting and water projects.  We are going out to bid for the general contractor on June 15 and the bids will be due back on June 29.  We are looking forward to having the work start.

B&B Specialty Meats - Pateros Business of the Year for 2008

B&B Specialty Meats
 B&B Specialty Meats
Location:  Pateros

Bob and I (Brenda) purchased B&B Specialty Meats in December of 2004 and opened our doors in March of 2005.   Since the equipment was already  set up  at our current location on Lakeshore Drive and we liked the town of Pateros.  We decided to leave the business where it is.  Since Bob and I live in Okanogan and commute to Pateros this was a big decision.  We feel the growth and success of our business is not only due to the travelers passing through but also the local community support we receive year round.  Bob and I enjoy visiting with our customers and have made several friends.
