Want to know what it means to have Hope that is free? Or to release Hope from whatever may be locking it down?
Come, Come Whoever You Are. Join our FIVE North Bay Unitarian Universalist Congregations on Sunday, October 14 beginning at 10:30 AM in Petaluma, Veterans Memorial Building. Hear Rev. Dr. William Schulz, President and CEO of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, speak on what it is to have Free Hope. We will also hear from all the choirs, including our own. Enjoy fellowship with other congregations after the service. This is a multi-generational event that promises an inspiring, fulfilling and fun time for all. Childcare and activities will be provided.
Sign up in the UUCM foyer to offer or get a ride to the revival.
Lunch is available for pre-ordering. $10/person, $5 children under 12. Members Welcoming Visitors
| | The Task force on Membership is planning to strengthen and energize how we engage with visitors and new attendees in a road to membership process. We are inviting volunteers to help welcome visitors after the service. A training workshop for greeters and welcome volunteers will be on Sunday October 21, 12 to 2:30, Fellowship Hall. This is a limited commitment (one Sunday a month?) and is a great way to help! For further information or to volunteer, please contact Nani Ranken. nani@ranken.com or 898-8558.

UUCM Heritage Project | |
 | Members from the 1950s. (taken in 2003) |
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin is thrilled to be launching the UUCM Heritage Project this Fall. The mission of the project is to collect oral histories, written memories, photos and documents related to the history of our congregation. We will start the project by collecting these interviews and materials in private interviews. We can set up a time to meet with the interviewee directly after church or at another time that is convenient for all parties.
Eventually, we hope to involve the youth of the congregation and others who are interested, and expand the project to include a film or series of short films celebrating who we are as a congregation. This year, 2012/2013, we will be focusing on the first twenty-five years of our history. There are many ways to be involved. 1) Volunteer to be interviewed, if you were involved the early decades of the church. 2) Volunteer to be an interviewer. You will be trained and paired up with an interviewee. 3) Write down your memories of the church and submit to the collection. If you'd like, we could turn your submission into a blog entry and post here. 4) Donate photos and documents from the early years of the church. 5) Type transcripts of the interviews for our archives.
6) If you have given a Remarkable People lecture and still have notes or a written talk, submit these to the archive. There will be more ways to be involved with the project as it evolves. Stay tuned! If you are interested in helping in any of these ways, please contact Nikki Gothelf at ngothelf@pacbell.net

Pastoral Care
| | UUCM has many people who need transportation to and from church or church events. By participating in the STAR program as a rider or driver you can help solve this problem.
Safe Transport And Reimbursement "STAR" Program Marin Whistlestop's new STAR Volunteer driver program reimburses drivers 35 cents per mile. Here's how it works: "Driver drives rider to and/or from church, appointment, other activity. Rider fills out and signs a form. Driver completes and submits the form to STAR. They send the money to rider (with a new form for the next month.) Rider gives the money to driver. Joan Nelson has been doing this for several months and says it works like clockwork. STAR does not match drivers and riders. They find each other just as they would without such a program. Both rider and driver have to complete an initial application. For more info call 454-0969. or go to Volunteer Driver Program |
