Sunday Worship Service

July 15, 10:30 am: Living and Loving Like A UU: Faith, Community, Action and Speaking Your Truth Carol Thomas Cissel with Worship Associate Bev Munyon
Carol Thomas Cissel is a UU Candidate for ministry. "After completing my Master of Divinity degree next May, I hope to move deeper into ministry and begin serving a UU congregation."
How do we live like Unitarian Universalists? What is being a UU really about? Both answers lie in the things we decide to do...the lives we choose to make...the communities we belong to and the things our core values will not let us remain silent about. This morning we'll "talk story" about how the UU religion looks and feels in practice. Come ready to sing, laugh and share - and do that UU thing we do.
July 22, 10:30 am: Forgiveness: Moving forward, taking stock and letting go Carol Thomas Cissel with Worship Associate Karen Auroy
Everybody makes mistakes. Some are accidental. But, sometimes our carefully planned lives go astray. Simply put, we all mess up sometimes. But, it's OK. As painful as they might be, mistakes...combined with forgiveness...create wisdom. Unfortunately, too many of us let the mistakes, instead of the learning, define our lives. Join us this morning to talk about moving into forgiveness.

"Bryson (A Short History of Everything) takes readers on a tour of his house, a rural English parsonage, and finds it crammed with 10,000 years of fascinating historical bric-a-brac. Each room becomes a starting point for a free-ranging discussion of rarely noticed but foundational aspects of social life." Publishers Weekly. |

Social Concerns Items

Last week's intensive charette on homelessness produced a broad community-wide plan aimed toward ending homelessness in Marin. To read the final recommendations, contact figleafjoan@comcast.net.
(Charette is from the French for "cart" or "chariot." It originally had something to do with architects working on their plans at the last minute while riding en charrette to the final presentation. The term is used today by designers and city planners.)
WELLNESS DINNERS:
We have one more opportunity to participate this year, Tuesday, August 21st. Mark your calendar if you wish to be a part of this very important outreach! Email cjwlittrell@aol.com or call: 883-9676 if you wish to participate in August! ST. VINCENT'S SOUP KITCHEN: Summer dinners will be prepared FOR US--at St. Vincent's soup kitchen--by volunteers from the street community. So mark your calendars for August 6, September 10, October 8. There will be an open mike for anyone who wants to sing, recite, or otherwise perform for the gathering. Open mike starts @ 5:30pm. Dinner is served @ 6pm. Contact figleafjoan@comcast.net(453-6221) to reserve your seat at the table.
