  Sunday Worship Service chalice

June 3, 10:30 am: 'Transitions'
Rev Chip Wright, UUCM YRUU, Linda Haumann & Dan Mansergh with Worship Associate Bev Munyon

Come join in as we 'bridge' our high school graduating youth who are stepping out of YRUU - Young Religious Unitarian Universalists - into college or some other journey. Come celebrate as they bridge into our UU young adult community. This will also be the last Sunday for our wonderful RE director of the last 8 years, Linda Haumann, who is also bridging on, moving into another chapter of her life. And last but not least our esteemed youth adviser Dan
Mansergh is bridging too as he steps down from this role.

Social Concerns Items
WELLNESS DINNERS:  A Wellness Dinner was held May 15th in support of the Street Chaplaincy of Rev.Paul Gaffney. This was our first experience this year as we were sponsoring the women's shelter this winter. What an experience it was! The homeless population of Marin is burgeoning! We fed over 60 people!. It was a little like the loaves and fishes of the biblical story!

Very special thanks to: The Parks, The Vines, Roddie
Pistilli, Kristen Jensen, The Lingenfelters, Joyce Rhodes,
The Baele-Kouns, Mary Jo Beery, Carolyn Planakis, Jim
Gronvold,& Karen Spaulding! Even with these contributors we had to bring in more food!

We have one more opportunity to participate this year, Tuesday, August 21st.  Mark your calendar if you wish to be a part of  this very important outreach!  Email [email protected] or call: 883-9676 if you wish to participate in August!

ST. VINCENT'S SOUP KITCHEN:  Many UUCM members have enriched their spiritual development by providing direct service to Marin's homeless community. Contributions of money, time, food and labor are important.

Marin's Interfaith Street Chaplaincy offers us a rich opportunity to connect.  That's all. Just connect...for the sake of our own spiritual development.

Summer dinners will be prepared FOR US--at St. Vincent's soup kitchen--by volunteers from the street community.

There will be an open mike for anyone who wants to sing, recite, or otherwise perform for the gathering. So contact [email protected] (453-6221) to reserve your seat at the table.

June 4, July 2, August 6, September 10, October 8.
Open mike starts @ 5:30pm. Dinner is served @ 6.

If you care about an issue or cause that you want UUCM members to know about, please bring it to our attention at the Social Concerns information table at refreshment time.
To reserve a date: [email protected] 453-6221.

Social Concerns:  Another Way to Help the Homeless

Oma Village, a volunteer outreach effort to assist Homeward Bound in serving homeless families, is seeking in-kind donations of the following items:  small electrical appliances families can use in their motel room, such as slow cookers, electric frying pans and electric kettles; diapers, wipes, towels and sheets.

Items can be left at Betty Pagett's: 175 Greenfield Avenue, San Rafael, or contact her for pick up: 459-7151, [email protected].

The Social Concerns Committee has already made a financial contribution to this very worthwhile project.

Elders Day Celebration Service May 27
cakeThe Elders Day service and celebration was a great success. Approximately 30 elders showed up including some we haven't seen for a while. Several elders spoke during the service.  Cake was served outside and Phil led us in singing the old Beatles song, When I'm 84!  View photos in the photogallery on our web site.
