Ushers Needed
| | We need 2-3 additional ushers for our pool. New members are encouraged to serve. Contact Nani Ranken 898-8558 nani@ranken.com
I am only one. But still I am one. I cannot do everything But still I can do something And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
Edward Everett Hale
Why I usher: I usher because I am able to arrive 30 minutes prior to the service of my choice to prepare, because I can stand and walk without undue fatigue, because I can smile and chat, open and close doors, because i can count people in their seats, and because I can count and record bills and coins for 10 minutes after the service. I usher because there is a need that I am capable of fulfilling as Edward Everett Hale so eloquently reminds me.
Lee FitzGerald

Our book for April 18 is Moon Tiger by Penelope Lively. This novel was the 1987 winner of the Booker Prize. The protagonist and narrator, a best-selling author of popular history, is now an old woman lying alone in a hospital bed and deciding to write "a history of the world." This turns into the memories of her own life that glow in her consciousness and mix with the historical events that shaped her life and career.
