February, 2012

Hello all. This notes has been a long time coming. My wife Andrea, after getting her Masters in Technology in Education, has finally found a job matching her degree. Sadly, this job lands her in Tampa, FL. This is being written at the beginning of her fourth week there. I do not look far into the future, as you may know, so the future is filled with possibilities. Needless to say, this is a trying time for me, and Andrea too I'm sure.

I do love my life with my congregation, and all my other jobs. There is no equal to the joy I feel at UUCM. I thank all of you.

My UU Musician's Network Board of Trustees, of which I am a part, met at UUCM this last weekend. They all enjoyed their time here including the Crab Feed. It was a pleasure for me to have them here and make their stay here seamless. I, without question, want to thank all the people that helped me with my charge: Bev Munyon, Dick and Marje Park, Valerie Taylor, Henry Kingdon, Charles Seagrave, Carole Rosvold, Mary Bicknell and last but not least, Marge Hollinger, my backbone and savior. Thank you all so so much.

My love to you all,

Phil Hildreth C.M.L.

Thank you - 2012 Auction/Crab Feed

It takes a village to put on an Auction/Crab Feed and that's what we had. Thank you to all who helped from the Auction Committee (Sally, Susan, Marge, Lori, Norman, Mary, Janette, Phil, Chip) and our auctioneer Dick and all those who helped in all capacities: cooks, shoppers, bartenders, cashiers, set up, cleanup, raffle ticket sellers, greeters, crab preparers, item/service donators, computer service,  bidders, those who brought friends and neighbors, and providers of internal and outside publicity.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!  It was a fabulous event  and proceeds' amount will be posted next week.

Deep Green DVD
Discover and discuss....
DEEP Green with Rev. Chip

Sundays: Feb 19, 26th noon-3pm Fireside Room

We will view and discuss the DVD, Deep Green which points out some interesting things about global warming and how we can help to make its impact lighter on the planet. A light lunch is provided. The plan is to make this a positive conversation with an eye towards what we could do as a religious community to join in and help.

They've been studying the 7th UU principle with a focus on their natural surroundings.

Becca:

Tree

I think wise and strong.

Wind blows my leaves and

You hear me talking.

Acorns fall down and

You see me moving.

All the things that happen...

I am doing.

Elanor:

Butterfly

I like to eat nectar from flowers.

I fly all around.

My friend is a frog.

My wings are colorful and big!

Sara:

Penguin

I swim

I skate

I like to eat fish

I feel warm tucked under my feathers.

Peter:

Fish

I feel good in the deep blue sea.

I love to blow bubbles.

I'm a rainbow fish

Soaring through the sea!

Gaelen:

Monkey

I'm a monkey in the jungle.

I hang from vines.

I climb in trees and swing from tree to tree!

Hannah:

Owl

I watch for rodents.

I am awake when you are asleep.

When you are awake..

I am asleep.
