Sunday Worship Service
| |
Services start at 10:30 am.
December 11, 10:30 am: Love is Never Wasted Lindasusan Ulrich with Worship Associate Beverly Munyon
There are times when it seems like none of our efforts are making a difference, whether with the people close to us or in the wider world. Yet Gandhi urged, "Whatever you do may seem insignificant, but it is most important that you do it." Lindasusan Ulrich, a candidate for UU Ministry and a student at Starr King School for the Ministry, will share a tale about a little girl, a seamstress, and the importance of following your heart anyway.
|
Contemplative Service
| | Our Lay led Contemplative Service is from 9:00-10:00 am on Sundays in the Fireside Room.
Readings introduce a silent period to reflect on a topic or idea, followed by an opportunity to share individual thoughts.

All this and more will be available at our Auction. Look for the Auction table in the foyer and in the Fireside Room to sign up with your donations and a way you can help!
Donation forms due by JANUARY 22, 2012.

Sale at Deck the Halls | | UUCM Crafters and Bakers will offer their wares for sale at Deck the Halls on December 11. Anyone interested please price your items and bring them that day. There will be a table in the Fellowship Hall. |
Our Basket Share - Ideas Needed!
| |
We are still awaiting your nomination of a great local non profit for this year's Basket Share program!
Ideally, a nominee should be a Bay Area organization that a congregant is truly involved with (e.g. as a volunteer) or receives services from.
By sharing our offering basket with a different local nonprofit for eight Sundays per year, we live our UU principles while gaining valuable nonprofit partners that have similar goals.
We need your nominations.
Please send your suggestions
[email protected] and tell us what this organization does and/or how it has helped you. |
Book Group | | No Meeting in December; Next Meeting January 18.
Our UUCM Book Group meets the third Wednesday of each month, 7:30 to 9 PM in the Clara Barton Room. All are invited. Because of the proximity to Christmas, we will skip the December meeting day. Our next meeting will be January 18. Blair Gray will lead us in the discussion of Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff. This Pulitzer Prize winning biography presents its subject as " far more complex and compelling than any fictional creation" (NYT Book Review). |
Toiletry Items Needed!
| |
A collection box for small or travel size toiletry items including toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, lotions, shampoo, tissues, etc. is in the UUCM foyer.
Please contribute your "goodies" to the box no later than January 8 for our annual RE toiletry kit-making for homeless people. Thanks!

Donate today to the Fall 2001 Chalice Lighter Call, benefiting the Religious Education program of the Sierra Foothills Unitarian Universalists!
The Chalice Lighter program is an exciting opportunity to promote and strengthen Unitarian and Universalism in the Pacific Central District. PCD UUA Chalice Lighters commit to donating to three Chalice Lighter calls per year. Each call is for a specific growth project. As a Chalice Lighter, you will be sent a letter telling you about the current "call" to be funded. This letter will explain the current project and request that you send in your pledged amount. |
