Sunday Worship Service | |
Services start at 10:30 am. November 27, 10:30 am: "Beware of 2012!" Rev. Chip Wright with Worship Associate Judith Pomeroy
It is said by some the year 2012 will bring the end of the world. This prediction is not rooted in Christianityʼs Book of Revelation or the predictions of Nostradamus, but rather in the Mayan calendar. I donʼt buy into doomsday predictions but I am curious as to why they seem so pervasive.

Contemplative Service
| | Our Lay led Contemplative Service is from 9:00-10:00 am on Sundays in the Fireside Room.

Thank you to Sally Schroeder and Susan Pryor who have agreed to co-chair the Auction/ Crab feed event committee.
Donations We need as many people as possible to solicit donations from local businesses (ex. restaurant $50 gift card, movie tickets) and also to donate your own services and items. Guest at your Table

OUR CONGREGATION AND UUSC, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee
Do you read the UU World? In the most recent issue (pp. 56-57), you'll find "San Rafael" listed as a UUSC Vision of Justice Society. This means that over 50% of us have joined UUSC as individual members. Congratulations on keeping our membership figures so high.
Notice also in this issue, inside the back cover, you can view the 2011 Holiday Cards and order them directly.
Coming right up is our annual Guest at your Table program. It's an excellent way to show our children how we as UUs can participate in efforts for a more just world. But it's not just for the young - we can all take part by inviting a "guest" to our dinner tables during the holidays. Our contributions support UUSC as it works to help people facing humanitarian crises around the world including those suffering in the East Africa famine, survivors of the Haiti earthquake and the Japanese tsunami.
If you are about to renew your membership, the amount will also be counted as part of our congregation's Guest at your Table total IF you indicate the name of our congregation.
The Guest at your Table program kicked off on Sunday, November 20, at the Stone Soup service.

Our Basket Share - Ideas Needed!
| |
Put on your thinking caps: It's time to nominate great local nonprofits for this year's Basket Share program!
Ideally, a nominee should be a Bay Area organization that a congregant is truly involved with (e.g. as a volunteer) or receives services from.
By sharing our offering basket with a different local nonprofit for eight Sundays per year, we live our UU principles while gaining valuable nonprofit partners that have similar goals.
We need your nominations.
Please send your suggestions
[email protected] and tell us what this organization does and/or how it has helped you. |
From the Administrator...
