Sunday Worship Service | |
Services start at 10:30 am.
October 2, 10:30 am: "Celebrating our Liberal Religion"
Rev. Peter Morales, Rev. Chris Bell, Rev. Bonnie Dlott, Rev. Chip Wright, Jan Ogren, Deborah Mason, Mariene Abel, the bands and choirs of the North Bay, and many more.
This is our 4th ANNUAL NORTH BAY UU REVIVAL! You won't want to miss a celebration of inspiration including our renowned President of the UUA, Rev. Peter Morales, as well as our Rev. Chip Wright, Rev. Chris Bell from Santa Rosa, and Rev. Bonnie Dlott from Napa. Hear the largess of the area choirs singing and join in with the music. Lunch from diverse food trucks and more fellowship will follow. Join with your neighboring UUs, some all the way from Lake County. Every year this combined service has grown and so this year we'll have the celebration at the Jackson Theater at Sonoma Country Day School (4400 Day School Place, Santa Rosa.) Don't forget to carpool if you can! Groups can meet at UUCM by 9:30 or arrange an alternate meeting place if they wish.
Directions:
101 north - past Santa Rosa: 1) Take Airport Blvd Exit (direction West over freeway) 2) Turn Right at Aviation Blvd. (First Stop Light) 3) Continue on Aviation Blvd. to Day School Place (which is the first right and is immediately before the railroad tracks approx. .4 mile) 4) Turn Right into Day School Place and watch for parking attendants to direct you.
If you don't go the revival, there will be an alternate service at UUCM. Joan Nelson will lead a meditation and informal discussion about religion, its purpose and function, and what we, individually, want to get from participating in a religious community

UUCM Minister
October 2011
This October I travel to Transylvania to participate in the dedication of our Partner church in Sovata on October 8th. Our Partner church, through their minister Levente, extended an invitation to any of us at UUCM who wished to attend.
Thanks to your and the board's gracious support, I am off on Oct 4th and will return Oct 17th. As the representative of UUCM, I will bring all of our greetings to this milestone celebration in their church life and offer our love and support. My wife, Lisa, will be joining me on Oct 6th representing her congregation, the UU Fellowship of Los Gatos. The plan is that I will also be preaching in their church on Sunday, October 9th, the day after the dedication. This should be interesting as I do not speak any Hungarian or associated language, so wish me luck. I do not know at this time if there are others from UUCM who will be able to make this journey, which will be a rich and wonderful experience and a true UU pilgrimage for any who can go. Certainly Rev. Levente will be there to make our visits memorable and welcoming.
While I am gone I will be available via email. I do not know the wireless situation in Transylvania or Budapest but I imagine it is not as good as it is here. Therefore, I may be a bit slow in responding, but messages will eventually get to me and I will connect as soon as I possibly can. I return to the pulpit on Oct. 23rd and will be bringing all the news of my journey and points of interest I discover along the way.
