Sunday Worship Service

June 26, 11 am: "Because Life is a Wild Ride - Guidelines for Raising a Sane and Successful Teen"
Mary Ann Maggiore, M.Div., Guest Speaker with Worship Associate Joan Nelson

Guiding a young person into adulthood can be a swirling, hectic inferno, an engaging spiritual practice, or a bit of both. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, family member, friend or neighbor of a teenager, there are things you can do to smooth the path of growing up. We will explore what works and what doesn't and how we can all participate in this work of building a beloved community for all ages of people.

Get ready for a new and consistent year round service time! Beginning Sunday, July 3, UUCM's main service will begin at 10:30 a.m. This change will be better for families and hungry children, make our start time similar to other Marin churches, and accommodate other Sunday commitments - both at UUCM and in the community. Please spread the word! The contemplative service will take a break in the summer and resume in the fall in the Fireside Room.

Enjoy General Assembly from Home!

From June 22-26 be sure to check out what is available online and watch and listen to as much as possible.  Remember all times are Eastern Standard time and we are 3 hours earlier. If you miss something live you can go back later to view or hear it.

Partner Church News: Possible Trip??

Several us are seriously considering going to Sovata for the dedication of our partner church (including Joyce Rhodes and Marilyn Nelson).  We have a possible itinerary from John Dale, UU travel and pilgrimage organizer for Transylvania.  It COULD include either Budapest or Bucharest. (Contact Marilyn Nelson, PCC co-chair (msgnelson@earthlink.net) to have a copy of the e-mail sent to you.

It would be an unusual trip to visit a culture in transition and a wonderful opportunity to meet partner church members and to celebrate with them the dedication of our partner church in Transylvania, Rumania with their minister Levante (This year's Balazc scholar) whom we've met with his family several times in the past year.

For more information contact Marilyn or Terry Merrick.

Basket Share Coordinator Needed!

Can you make a little extra time to be Basket Share Coordinator next church year? Susan Ingersoll is going on the Board and therefore is unable to continue. It is a very fun job that contributes to UUCM's Social Concerns work, raises a little extra money for our congregation, and helps build community with other nonprofits. Susan's got all the files and information you'll need for a smooth transition and a great year!

Please contact Susan Ingersoll or Joan Nelson if interested in learning more. Thanks to all for considering taking on this very important task!

Mill Street Shelter:  Sign-Up Time Again

On the first Sunday of every month, UUCM provides dinner for the residents of Mill Street Shelter.  This effort has been shared by many people over the past five years. It's sign -up time again.  If you would like to provide a main dish to serve 25, or a large salad, please let June Fesler know what month you can do so. She will make a schedule and contact you.
Contributors bring food to the kitchen on Sunday morning, and it is delivered later that day. We will need volunteer contributors starting in July.  Contact June Fesler- Junemfesler@gmail.com
