Sunday Worship Service

April 24, 11 am: "Flower Communion, Child Dedication and Easter Sunday"
Rev. Chip Wright with Worship Associate Judith Pomeroy

Bring a flower (or more!) to share. We will also celebrate our children, and learn a bit of the history of both the flower communion and the Easter season. Intergenerational service

A Note from Rev. Chip:

Please let me know by Friday at noon if you would like your child(ren) dedicated or re-dedicated during our Children's Dedication service. This is a tradition that goes back to the 1950's when Easter dedication services were held by my father at the Greek Theater on Mt. Tamalpais.  A child dedication in our tradition is a ritual welcome into our liberal religious family and a pledge of the community to care for and to be of support in the life of our young people and their families.  This is a wonderful opportunity to dedicate and to re-dedicate your children into our Unitarian Universalist fold.  I still remember my own dedication in this congregation which I have proudly carried with me throughout my life. If your children have been dedicated before, they can be re-dedicated, and this distinction will be recognized.

Also, please wear an Easter Bonnet or hat to the service this Sunday.

Botermans Fund

Notice of Election of Trustee

This congregation established the Karel F. Botermans Service Fund in 1974 to aid employees and members who are "unable to provide the necessaries of life" for themselves due to disability.

The market value of the fund as of March 31, 2011 was $82,334. The funds are managed by First Republic Private Wealth Management. There were no requests for assistance this past fiscal year.

The current trustees are Kristin Jensen, Marje Park and Paul Steinman. Paul Steinman has resigned; Marje Park's term ends in June 2012; Kristin Jensen's name is placed in nomination for election at the next annual meeting (May 22) for another two-year term ending in 2013.

It's the Year of the BAFS!
friend chineseAnd you are invited!  BAFS?  Well, that is 'Bring a Friend Sundays.'  Bring a friend(s) to service at LEAST once a month--or have them bring you!  And you can anticipate a reward beyond heaven, on earth: Gourmet dinner at the home of Rev's Chip and Lisa on May 20, 2011!

Here's how it works.

Please note the BAFS Sundays:
Second half:  May 15

All BAFS will offer an opportunity for any new folks to meet with the Minister, the RE Director, our Board President and other leaders of UUCM informally after the service.

So start calling your friends and telling them what a great place the UUCM is and inviting these special people to our special Sundays on top of the hill.  A fun time will be had by all!
Thank you for all the wonderful feedback! I love knowing you read this (and every issue of) UUCM Weekly News!  I work very hard to bring it to your mailbox every Thursday.
