Pastoral Care Corner
|
The End of Life Series was a great success! There was documentation presented at the last meeting. If you did not receive a blue packet, a white binder, or the vial of life, you may still do so. Walt & I will bring these items on the 19th (next Sunday).
The holiday season is upon us, sometimes it is a difficult time due to losses of loved ones, illness, or special needs. Pastoral Care is available to you through this time as well. If you need help, a ride, food, a caring listener, I am listing the members of the committee as I will be away from Dec. 23-28 and again January 7-21.
The committee remains active at all times. Following is a list of the members you may contact: Anne Baele, Art Rosvold, Phil Hildreth, Don Beck, Babs Turrentine, Linda Haumann,
We wish you a happy and safe holiday season!

New Year's Eve Party???
| | We have had great New Year's Eve dinner parties in the Fireside Room for over 10 years, but this year we are unable to take a leadership role. Is there anyone out there who would like to make it happen?
Just call us. We have all the info you need to bring it about.
If no one calls, it won't happen. The Fireside Room will then be available for a rental.

AcoUUstic Cafe: Thank You!
| Thanks to all who made the December 11 chamber concert a success. There were approximately 90 attendees (including musicians) and we made approximately $600 net. The musicians did a wonderful job, Katie Blickensderder organized everything and numerous UUCMers helped from publicity to setting up, selling tickets, food, drinks to cleaning up. The music was wonderful and they hope to return next year.

AcoUUstic Cafe: Save the Date - Jan 8, 2011 |

Saturday January 8, 2011, 7:30 pm (doors open at 7 pm) AcoUUstic Cafe
After our 2 chamber music concerts it is time for something different.Cowpony and the Hopheads, is a three piece acoustic folk-rock trio. Kim Richards (vocals, guitar, bass, percussion), James Tepperman (mandolin, guitar, woodwinds, vocals) and Peter Tracy (guitar, dobro, mandolin, harmonica, vocals) make up the band. Coming in the New Year: UUCM's Second Annual Sock Hop
| UUCM's Second Annual Sock Hop benefiting UUCM and the Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy on Saturday, January 29, 7-10pm.
Admission to the fun evening is a little cash and a package (or more) of men's white athletic socks.
All the family can join in the fun of dancing or listening to "That Old Time Rock 'n' Roll" music of the 50's and 60's! Professional ballroom dance teacher Michelle Parodi will teach us some basic steps. Last year we learned "The Stroll" from our own musical artist Karen Auroy and collected over 100 pairs of socks for the Street Chaplaincy. Let's make this year's Sock Hop even bigger and better! Bring your friends too!!

Calling All Book Lovers!
| |
Want to help launch a "Buck a Book" used book sale fundraiser? This simple fundraiser is also a green way to reuse and share the books we no longer want. This project needs a bookcase (on wheels) or a closed cabinet; a group of volunteers to set up and take down the book table; and a responsible team to manage revenue.
Please email Jen Gennari if you are interested. |

It's the Year of the BAFS!
| |
And you are invited! BAFS? Well, that is 'Bring a Friend Sundays.' Bring a friend(s) to service at LEAST once a month--or have them bring you! And you can anticipate a reward beyond heaven, on earth: Gourmet dinner at the home of Rev's Chip and Lisa!
Here's how it works.
Please note the BAFS Sundays: First half: Dec 19 & Jan 16 Second half: Feb. 13, Mar. 13, Apr. 10 & May 15
All BAFS will offer an opportunity for any new folks to meet with the Minister, the RE Director, our Board President and other leaders of UUCM after the service.
So start calling your friends and telling them what a great place the UUCM is and inviting these special people to our special Sundays on top of the hill. A fun time will be had by all!
