Dinners for Eight
| | Make new friends at UUCM at "Dinners for Eight", rotating potluck dinners in members' homes. Have the pleasure of breaking bread with eight people from UUCM in their homes for a wonderful evening of good food and great conversation. The host for each dinner cooks the main dish and works out with attendees what to bring. Dinners usually start about 6:30 and end by 9 to 9:30. There are six dinners each year, (first Saturday of October, November, December, February, March, and April). Each member is expected to host one dinner each year for eight (or six if you are limited in space). Please contact Sher to sign-up and start saving the 1st Saturday of the month for Dinners for 8, starting Oct.2.

A Sustainable World and a Dream of Justice For the last several years the congregations of Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Marin, Petaluma, Napa and Lake County have joined together in Santa Rosa for a wonderful service featuring all the ministers and choirs. This is a great opportunity to get to know people in other congregations.

Social Concerns Luncheon
| |
Save the Date - Sunday October 17 12:30 PM after the service.
Opening Luncheon of
UUCM Social Concerns 2010-11 Programs
After a delicious lunch, there will be a brief introduction to our current UUCM Social Concerns programs, followed by a special showing of a video of the 2010 Ware Lecture. The Ware Lecture is the MAIN EVENT at General Assembly, our UUA annual conference. Each lecture features a well-known speaker on social or religious issues.
Some of you will remember the video of the 2008 lecture by Van Jones. Rev. Chip recommends this new one as one of the best he has ever seen.
Everyone is welcome -the lunch is for you. You do not have to be a member of the Social Concerns Committee. We ask a $5 donation, but no one is turned away!

Social Concerns Table | | Do you have an issue?? During the post-service coffee hour on Sunday, our Social Concerns Committee sometimes provides an "information table" on various issues of interest to UUCM members. Any UUCM member who would like to present material at an information table can present a social justice "issue" to the Committee for approval to disseminate information on a particular date, preferably with a month of lead time. Just contact a member of the Social Concerns Steering Committee.

Seeking Art Committee Chair

SOS TO ART APPRECIATORS (and we know there are many in our congregation) If the congregation wants continuing art shows, someone has to organize the exhibits. Please step forward and lead us to a beautiful future. Seize this opportunity to turn the Fireside room into a special gallery. Anyone interested, contact Jennifer Gennari.
