|  There is one more 10 am service. 11 am services resume September 5. Contemplative Service resumes September 12 at 9 am.

Levente and family are here

| | The Partnership Committee is excited to tell you that Rev. Levente Lazar, the minister of our partner church in Szovata, Transylvania, his wife and two young children (7 and 11) are here to attend our Starr King School in Berkeley. Scott and Terry have visited with them and will have them at UUCM Oct. 24.
We are still looking for a few dollars to help pay the way for one of their children. Make checks to UUCM with a note that it is for the Balazs Scholar or donate on our website, again with a note that it is for the Balazs Scholarship. We have already sent about $625 (many thanks to you who have already donated) and need another $175 to make up our share.

| If you paid at the Auction for the "Something for all" barbecue Saturday, September 11, 6 pm at Rev. Chip & Lisa's house please RSVP Rev.Chip by September 7. Specify if vegetarian or if you have any special food needs. Google or Map Quest the address from the UUCM directory or email the office if you need directions.
If you didn't bid, there are a few slots left for UUCM members and friends only. $10 minimum for adults, and $5 minimum for children. Bid as much as you can to support the financial health of our UU community.

Pastoral Care

Rev. Chip will be leading a series of three classes
this fall around End of Life Issues.
Not only will it cover the practical and necessary steps to prepare for this inevitability, but the emotional issues that are involved as well. The classes will require registration. You will be hearing more in the
following weeks! The
sessions will be held on Sundays after services

Annual Pacific Central District Men's Retreat

How long has it been since you last got together with a group of men and talked about what's really important to you? Not the latest baseball game, not the cool summer weather we've been having, not the price of gas. I mean instead what's really close to your heart.
For many years now, UU men of the Pacific Central District have gathered on the third weekend in October and have played, explored, meditated, sung, made new friends and learned from one another. This year's retreat, the weekend of Oct. 15-17, will focus on three issues:
Making friendships, deepening friendships
Coping with retirement and semi-retirement
Men's perspective on taking charge of our personal health
Come join UU men for a weekend of fun, kinship, workshops and more!
Location: Westminster Retreat Center, Alamo (near Walnut Creek)
