Sunday Worship Service
|
| Sunday, June 20th, 11:00 AM "Lazy Days of
Summer" Participatory Service with Worship
Associate Joan Nelson
Most UUs-even the
well-organized among us-have trouble finding and managing those touted
mythical "lazy" days of summer. This participatory service will help
us give UU meaning to the art of laziness.

Music Notes
|
| June, 2010 Welcome all to the final Music Notes of our church year. It has been a very eventful musical year with our new minister Rev. Chip Wright. I am glad to be here and to be part of this growth and change this congregation is going through. I want also to first thank Milton Wong from the bottom of my heart. In all of my days here at UUCM, through the hard times and good, through my credentialing, (He was my advisor) and following my growth as a musician and a human with the utmost patience. I also wish to thank all the singers in my choir. Without them my job would not exist. Some have left the choir this year and new singers have come and sometimes it almost has a life of its own. We had a wonderful year singing and spiritually uplifting our congregation. Four or five years ago the UU Musicians Network wanted to have a certification process so the musicians in our denomination could have a place at the table with the UUA. I was one of the pilot candidates and I saw it through. Now the certification process is completely controlled and overseen BY the Unitarian Universalist Association's Credentialing Body. This was mostly due to Rev. Bill Sinkford's impetus.
Have a great summer! Phil Hildreth C.M.L.

| SUMMER COVERAGE It may be summer, but the Pastoral Care Committee continues to function and meet throughout the seasons. Let us know if you or a member needs to be contacted due to an emergency, illness, visits or other help. Most of us take vacations at some point in the summer, however, we want to be there for you. Following are the members of Pastoral Care who can be contacted: Carol & Walt Littrell, Anne Baele, Don Beck, & Phil Hildreth. Linda Haumann & Rev. Chip are off for the summer. Don't know who to call? Start with Janette and she will refer you if need be.
COMING THIS FALL! Rev. Chip will be leading three classes on Sundays at 12:30pm. on October 10, 24 & Nov. 7th for Elders Dealing with End of Life Issues. Topics covered will range from "How do I make sure my wishes are carried out? What legal papers need to be in place to protect my estate? What are the facts about Hospice Care? How does my family actuate my Long Term Insurance before spending large sums for my care? How do I get my family to discuss these issues?" Thank you to helpers of Burr and Marilyn
|
| A THOUSAND THANKS to the many people who gave their time, organizational skills, muscle power, and loan of a truck to help Burr and Marilyn clear out Burr's apartment and sell some things.
He is now settled at a board and care facility called Bretano House II at 675 Rosal Way near San Pedro Rd. in the Santa Venetia area of San Rafael.
He would love to have visitors. It would be a good idea to call first since he might be out. The house phone number is 492-1215. He should have his own phone soon.
Your generous help has shown me the spirit of love and community that is typical of UUCM. Marilyn Nelson

Refreshment coordinator needed
|
| Do you want food to munch on with your coffee next fall? If so we need a new Refreshment coordinator for the church year Sept. 2010 to June 2011. This person reminds members of upcoming dates for them to provide refreshments, make coffee and clean up kitchen afterwards. This is not a difficult job, just takes consistency. A chance to help UUCM. Contact Joanne Derby for details.
