Sunday Worship Service
|
| Sunday, May 30th, 11:00 AM "In the Eye of the Beholder"
Rev. Lisa Wiggins with Carole Rosvold, Worship Associate
Beauty
is an illusive concept, fraught with a wide diversity of understanding
and appreciation. However, it is a common spiritual yearning
throughout human culture. We will explore the search for the aesthetic
in our daily lives and its value of being a window to the
interconnected universe.

New Member Biography Rev. Lisa A. Wiggins
|
| Lisa's life is a combination of UU ministry, international development, management expertise, a love for the out-of-doors (bird watching, kayaking, abalone picking, gardening and stargazing) and photography. She relishes her partnership with Rev. Chip and with him they share four sons, eight grandchildren and two poodles. Although Lisa has traveled the world around, California is her chosen home. She also finds it a special treat to live now within an hour of her twin sister.
Hear Rev. Lisa Wiggins this Sunday at the 11am service!

Sunday Service Time Survey
|
| This
is the same announcement sent out in the UUCM Special Announcement last
Sunday. If you have already filled out your survey, thank you. If you
have not, please take this opportunity to do so now. It is a very short
survey. We would like to hear from as many people as possible whether
you are a member or attendee of UUCM. Your opinion is important to the
future of UUCM.
The
Committee on Ministry has proposed changing the Sunday service times
and we need feedback from the congregation. This survey will remain
open until June 13. If you have any questions please contact COM chair Tim.
There will also be a link from our web site uumarin.org on the About Services page of the Sunday Services menu. |

Remarkable People
|
| This month's Remarkable People will be the last
hurrah for Carole Rosvold and Carolyn Bopp (who are retiring). Carolyn will
be new on the Board of Directors and Carole will be on the Committee on
Ministry. For the June 11th meeting (second Friday of the Month) we'll
have Bill Pryor and Doug Kerr. They are long time UU's and have very
interesting life stories. We'll have something to sip and snack during the
break. It starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. Please be on time
because we have been running over time the past few months. Marge
Hollinger will be hosting next year with another (at this time) mystery
host. We have enjoyed spending second Fridays with you, and have
learned a lot about our membership. We are a talented
group!

Jim Scott in Concert at UUCM sponsored by our UU AcoUUstic Cafe!
|
| Saturday, June 12th, 7:00 PM
Jim Scott in concert at UUCM sponsored by our UU AcoUUstic Café!
MC and opening for Jim: Rev. Chip Wright
Don't miss this! Jim
Scott is a wonderful songwriter and musician who was a guitarist for
the Paul Winters Consort during its most prolific time, the 1980's. His songs and arrangements have become anthems of that time and our mother earth! He has continued to write, sing and play. Among his songs are "Gather the Spirit" and several others in our UU hymnal. Jim is also one of the creators of our own UUA Green Sanctuary program and a constant voice for the planet and the environment.
The suggested donation is $15 at the door. Wine and beer will be sold by the glass. Corking fee: $15. All the regular AcoUUstic Café's goodies to munch on will be available for a nominal price. Jim will have CDs of his music for sale as well.
So tell your friends, spread the word. Come early to get a good seat. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Thank you to all who made the Dream BIG (and often) auction possible.
|
| To our amazing auction committee chair, Phil Smith and all the committee members - Lori, Joyce, and Blair (donations), Lisa W. and Lisa C. (publicity), Marge H. and Marje P. (event set up).
And to Dick (our fabulous auctioneer) and Linda H. (assistant to Dick), and our bartenders Phil H., Carolyn, Eileen and Sean. Also
to the numerous people who made and sought after donations, brought in
refreshments, took down tables, cleaned up afterwords and helped in
other ways. And thanks to Rev. Chip who got everyone enthused with his
stories about the auction.
And most of all to those who bid and won the items, thus contributing $7,500 to UUCM's income. This was truly a community affair.
Any comments or suggestions about the auction email Phil Smith |
