Education Connection
|

Linda Haumann, DREFebruary,
2010
Happy February to everyone! There
are many intergenerational opportunities coming up over the next few months and
I encourage you to participate. Rev. Chip and I would love to see more
interaction among and between the generations here at UUCM. There's a depth of
wisdom and richness of experience among our elders, and our church home can
provide the perfect platform for encouraging interactions between young and
old.
The " Sock Hop" is on February 6th ; If you like crab, then bring your family to
the " Crab Feed" on Feb. 13th. On February 20th
there's another " Acoustic Café" to which children/youth are invited.
For a fun way to get to know Rev. Chip a
little better, a pizza and game night for families and new and visiting folks
is being planned for Saturday, February 27th. Please watch for more
details on this event!
A
great way for the entire family to perform service together is to prepare a
meal, serve it and eat with the homeless women on a Sunday night from now
through the end of March. This starts at 5:30 and is done by 7:00. Please
contact Joan Nelson.
For
those of you who would like to get more involved in adult education, there are
several ways to do so: Small Group Ministry groups, Remarkable People,
Knitting/Crocheting to Serve, etc. Please watch for a spirituality group offering, which will be an ongoing exploration of a variety of faith traditions
with a focus on spirituality. The other program to watch for is the return of
the "Sunday UU Salon".
