Greetings!
The CJ community is very blessed with the level of support we receive for our Annual Fund from our parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends. The Annual Fund accounts for 25 percent of the school's revenue and is vital in allowing us to continue to offer an excellent Catholic educational experience for our students.
This school year, the development office is particularly strengthening its focus on parent participation. Currently, about 30 percent of our families give in some way to the Annual Fund. We hope to increase that amount to around 50 percent, but we need your help in order to reach all CJ families.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, you can get involved at our first-ever "adults-only" night at the Fall Phonathon, which will include complimentary wine from Saturday's community wine tasting event as well as other food and beverage for our volunteers. This fun evening allows parents to demonstrate their support of the Annual Fund by making phone calls with us from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the library. No experience is needed and training will be provided.
Volunteers will be able to partake in a friendly competition Tuesday evening between two of our Eagle parent groups, the CJ PoPS and the Blue Green Club, to see which can finish with the most gifts. Those unable to volunteer on parent night October 23 are asked to sign up for one night during our three-week effort. The Fall Phonathon will take place in the library, Monday through Thursday evenings, on the following dates:
- October 15-18
- October 22-25, and
- October 29 - November 1
To schedule a night to volunteer, please contact me. Thank you in advance for giving your time.
Sincerely,
Caitlin Cronin Bennett, Alumni Relations Coordinator

Reminder: CJ Now Awarding Credits Per Semester Beginning this school year, CJ will award class credit on a per semester basis rather than at the completion of a class. Now, students will earn 0.5 credits at the end of the first semester and another 0.5 at the end of the second semester. Both semester grades will be reported on the student's official transcript. Also as a result, please note that: - Students' grades will start over each semester.
- Updated GPAs will be calculated at the end of each semester.
- Exemption from final exams may still be granted to a student at the end of the year in a year-long class if he or she has an A average for the entire year and meets the other exam exemption criteria listed on page 19 of the Student Handbook.
- Any student who does not earn both of these credits will need to earn the missing credit through a remedial summer school program.
