Featured Faculty & Staff Member
Jessie Hanley
Jessie is just starting her first year at Chaminade Julienne as a part of Lalanne, a master's degree program through the University of Dayton. The program allows her to earn her Master in Education while teaching full time and living with other program participants. She is lucky enough to live in community with six other women -- all teachers, something that has proved to be quite valuable as a first year teacher. So far at CJ, Jessie has felt extremely welcomed into the community and says she really connects with the family atmosphere. She says the school already feels like home to her.
A Columbus native and avid Buckeye fan, Jessie attended Bob Young's own Bishop Ready High School before graduating from the University of Dayton with a degree in science education. At UD, she joined a Lay Marianist Community and took a lay commitment to live out the Marianist charisms.
If she's not hiking or biking, you can find Jessie exploring new local restaurants, attending festivals, or trying her hand at cooking a new dish. She thoroughly enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures. Some of her most memorable moments include traveling to Guatemala, Ecuador, and Zambia during her college career where she learned to speak Spanish and participated in service projects.
Visit Jessie's page at cjeagles.org to learn more.
