Archdiocese Announces Vision for Catholic Schools
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati released its Vision for the future of Catholic schools on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Endorsed by Archbishop Dennis Schnurr, the Vision will be implemented over the next several years and contains a number of new systems of support for Catholic schools, as well as a unified commitment to support this essential ministry. Archbishop Schnurr has identified Catholic schools as a priority, and the Vision represents an agenda of growth and expansion for the future.

REMINDERS
Activity Passes on Sale Today!
Student and Adult Activity Passes, good for admission to CJ athletic and cultural events during the 2012-13 school year, go on sale tonight at Meet the Eagles Night.
New this year, pass holders may now redeem tickets for away GCL football and men's basketball games during advanced ticket sales in the CJ athletic office. Once redeemed, away tickets are valid only for the upcoming contest immediately following the date of retrieval.
As always, passes will also be accepted at all home football, volleyball, soccer, wrestling and basketball games as well as CJ theater productions. Student passes cost $60 and admit one student, while adult passes cost $180 and admit the pass holder plus up to one guest.

Fall Sport Physicals
Students who have not turned in a completed 2012-13 OHSAA physical form to the athletic office may not participate in practice or contests. If your child's physical expires during the fall season, please schedule your appointment now so that your child does not miss time on the field or court.

Patron/Ad Drive Materials Due September 21
Information regarding the Patron/Ad Drive was mailed home in mid-July, and is also available online at cjeagles.org. Every student is required to sell a minimum of $125 in patron or ad space. Contracts and payment must be received by September 21, 2012.

Please note: Anyone wishing to sell an ad to a physician or group not part of the Premier Health Network should please contact Caitlin for prior approval before soliciting the ad. Some restrictions apply, but we will work with each situation as exceptions arise.

Summer Math Homework
All students taking the second year Honors Geometry course are reminded to send two confirmation emails noting completion of their summer work to teacher Ann Meyers (
email). Completed summer work with parent signatures for both assignments must be brought the first full day of school.
Additionally, students taking the first year Honors Algebra 1/Geometry course should also email Ann Meyers once they
have finished their summer math work.

Sandy Ervin
Sandy has worked in the Chaminade Julienne business office for six years, where she has served as the director of finance and accounting for the last two. She is also a member of CJ's School Leadership Team and doubles as the school's human resource coordinator.
Sandy grew up in Dayton and attended Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, where she earned her degree in accounting and met her husband Bruce. He works for Elanco Animal Health, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company. The couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in July.
Sandy and Bruce have three children, ages 26, 24 and 21. Their eldest Brandon graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in electrical engineering and is currently employed with Deloitte Consulting. He recently became engaged. Courtney, the middle child, graduated from Miami University with a degree in education and now teaches in Cincinnati. Their youngest child Andrew is a senior at Ohio University, where he studies accounting.
The Ervins reside in Centerville and are members of the Southminster Presbyterian church. The family is excited to welcome Brandon's fiancé Alexandria to the family at their wedding in Charleston, S.C this June.
