Community Update  Department News  |  Calendar  Reminders  |  Parent Meetings  |  Connect

Greetings!

On the morning of Wednesday, April 25, the Chaminade Julienne student body will attend and participate in the Catholic Schools Unity Mass, hosted by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati at the University of Dayton Arena.

Due to this community-wide event, school will not be in session; however, students are expected to report to UD Arena for Mass by 9 a.m. Attendance will be taken on site and parents will be notified via the One Call Now messaging system if their student is absent. Unexcused absences will be counted as such.

All students are required to be in uniform for the Unity Mass, which is scheduled to go from 10 a.m. to noon. We will dismiss students immediately after Mass has ended.

Transportation from CJ to the Unity Mass and back will be provided to any student who is dropped off at school Wednesday morning. Students in need of transportation must arrive at CJ by 8 a.m. We will have students back to school by 12:30 p.m. for the early dismissal.

Students who drive may report directly to UD Arena. Those who plan to drive should arrive no later than 9 a.m. -- keeping in mind the increase in traffic -- and will be dismissed directly from the event immediately following its conclusion around noon.

More than 10,000 Catholic students from across the Miami Valley will be gathering together with Bishop Joseph R. Binzer, celebrant, to receive the Eucharist. Please remind students to be respectful and represent Chaminade Julienne appropriately.

For more details about the Unity Mass, I recommend reading this Catholic Telegraph article. If you have questions about the day specifically pertaining to CJ, please contact me directly.

God bless,

John Marshall, Principal  |  email
