CJ Parent Weekly

Community Update  |  Updates  Calendar  Reminders  Youth Programs  |  In Our Community

Greetings!

October is fall Phonathon month at CJ and it all begins with our first night of phone calls to alumni, parents and friends of CJ on Monday, October 10 from 5:30 to 9 p.min the library. The contributions received during this three-week effort by volunteers from within the CJ community make up a large percentage of our Annual Fund. To ensure its success, we are asking parents, students, faculty, staff and alumni to spend an evening after school with the development office making calls on the following dates:

  • October 10-13
  • October 17-20, and
  • Ocotber 24-27

No experience is necessary to take part in any of these fun nights supporting CJ students. Each evening begins with a complimentary dinner and training sessions for callers. This is the most impactful fundraiser we do all year and your time makes all of the difference.

If you would like to schedule a night to work during any of this year's fall Phonathon dates, please contact me in the development office at 937.461.3740 x201.

Thank you for your support,

Community Resources Available Through Guidance

Following a highly charged emotional event, such as the incident addressed in our Instant Communication email to parents Tuesday, it is not uncommon for students who have experienced similar distress in their lives to have thoughts and feelings reemerge. It is important that care be taken to address any concerns that may arise. Having a strong understanding of the signs and symptoms associated with personal duress, and knowing how to respond to them, is important to ensure that intervention can take place as soon as possible.

If you feel your son or daughter could benefit from grief support, health and wellness counseling, or crisis intervention, do not hesitate to contact any member of our student support team in the guidance office:

  • Mrs. Charlene Wheeler  |  email  |  ext. 218
  • Mrs. Susan Eichenauer  |   email  |  ext. 207
  • Ms. Nicole Will  |   email  |  ext. 215
  • Mrs. Jama Badinghaus  |   email  |  ext. 204
  • Mrs. Kelly Muhl  |  email  |  ext. 243

For additional assistance at any time, parents are also encouraged to reference this listing of community resources available at cjeagles.org.

Pep Band Thanks Parents for Snacks!

Thank you for all your support!  We should have enough treats with the upcoming game, but we now need juice boxes or juice bags (like Capri Sun) and hot coco. It was very cold at the game this past weekend, so if you have any way to keep hot water, that would be great too.

With questions, please email or call me at 271.2320.

Cindy Budde

Mrs. Cindy Budde is in her 18th year at CJ. After first starting in the development office, Cindy has spent the last 13 years as the assistant to the president. She loves working in such a friendly, supportive community and plans to stay at CJ as long as she's having fun.

Cindy graduated from Alter High School and also from the University of Dayton. She is a native Daytonian but did live in Brownsville, Texas and Tuscaloosa, Ala. for short periods when her children were young. Before beginning her family, Cindy worked for an executive vice president at the Mead Corporation for five years. She was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years and was very active in TWIGS during that time.

Cindy and her husband, Steve '69, are the proud parents of three children: Mike, '97, a mechanical engineer residing in Dayton; Julia, '02, a fourth year medical student at Emory;, and Laura, '02, a fashion designer in New York. Cindy is an avid walker, often getting up before the sun rises. She is currently having fun learning new home improvement skills like tiling walls and floors.
