Greetings!
When I first began volunteering at CJ with the Co-Educators seven years ago, I never could have foreseen serving as the group's president one day, nor could I have imagined all the wonderful friendships I've made along the way with parents, students, alums, and faculty and staff members just by simply getting involved.
I initially began attending monthly meetings and helping out behind the scenes in the fall of 2004 when my eldest son entered his freshman year. As the years went by and my second child became an Eagle, I worked events including Meet the Teacher Night, the Spaghetti Dinner, and AfterProm. Today, as my third child begins her sophomore year, I choose to continue volunteering because I believe that CJ parents can, and do, make a significant impact on the greater school community.
I truly feel blessed to be a part of this community and invite you to get involved to help make CJ even better! Join the Eagle Parents at the first meeting of the 2011-12 school year on Monday, September 12 at 7 p.m. in the library where you'll learn more about the activities of our three groups -- Blue Green Club, Co-Educators, and Parents of Performing Arts Students -- and have an opportunity to meet fellow parents.
If you'd like to receive more information, but can't attend the meeting next week, please complete and submit an Eagle Parent Volunteer form here at cjeagles.org.
Go Eagles!

UPDATES
Final Exam Notifications
Exams are given both in December and in May/June. It is important for all students to be in attendance on exam days. Please avoid scheduling conflicts such as routine doctor appointments, family vacations, college visits, etc. during the exam days. More information regarding exam attendance is available in the Student Handbook on page 23.
In order to eliminate the possibility that a student will have three exams scheduled in one day, there will be a slight modification to the exam dates printed in the original school calendar. The December exams will be given on December 16, 19, 20, and 21. The final exams will be given on May 29, 30, 31, and June 1. The specific schedules will be published closer to exam times.

After graduating from the University of Dayton, Laurie chose to join CJ's faculty in order to be part of the Pastoral Team (now called Campus Ministry) and teach Religion. Since then, she has taught math and served in a variety of roles.
In her 27 years, Mrs. Eloe has directed the liturgical choir; moderated the Student Pastoral Team (an early version of what is now called FLIGHT); led retreats including freshmen, junior and senior retreats, Kairos, and Urban Plunge; and chaperoned REACH sites.
Currently, Laurie is a member of the Mission Integration Team (MIT) as well as the director of the choir that sings for CJ pastoral in-services and faith-sharing masses. On Thursday afternoons, she helps coordinate students' recycling efforts as one of the moderators of the Environmental Club.
A mother of two, Laurie enjoys building furniture, recycling, directing choir at Immaculate Conception (and cooking for the parish's Feed the Homeless Program), and visiting her children. Nate, '06, is working to attain his PhD in Computer Science at Missouri S&T, and Katie, '09, is a junior at Butler University studying Actuarial Sciences.
