Greetings!
Today, we welcomed back all students and families for the official start of the school year at Chaminade Julienne. It was great to have the students' energy and excitement back on campus.
Teachers and staff spent Monday praying together during our opening retreat at Mt. Saint John, the Marianist property in east Dayton, and Tuesday preparing classrooms at CJ. During these days, we welcomed our new team members, caught up on the events of the summer, and got ready to welcome your sons and daughters. We have gotten off to a terrific start so far and look forward to continuing the tradition of Catholic educational excellence at Chaminade Julienne.
If you have not noticed the improvements to campus since June, please take advantage of upcoming opportunities like Meet the Eagles tonight on Blue Green Field or Meet the Teachers next Tuesday, August 23 starting at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Our newest campus addition, the Eagle Tennis Center on the corner of Ludlow and Franklin Streets, is nearing completion (ready by the middle of September, our contractors tell us). The Faust building, adjacent to Blue Green Field, is being demolished for future campus development and, during the 2011-2012 school year, will be available for additional student parking. The Language Lab (Room 341) has been updated with new computers for students and we have moved one of our art rooms to room 123, directly across from the office of student services. You may still smell fresh paint from several classrooms and hallways, and the floors should still be gleaming for a few more weeks, at least, from a fresh coat of wax.
Thank you for allowing us to partner with you in the Catholic education of your CJ student. I wish you and your family a wonderful school year. As always, if you have questions or believe we can improve our service, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Dan Meixner, President | email
