Chaminade and Julie Days

April 5 & 6, 2011

Greetings!

Next month, your son or daughter will have the opportunity to experience what it might have been like to attend one of our gender segregated predecessor schools during the first-ever Chaminade and Julie Days -- part of the 160/125 anniversary celebration.

On April 5 and 6, girls will attend classes Tuesday and boys will attend classes Wednesday. When not in school, each group will participate in a special program focused around the school's history in the Student Conditioning Center. The program will include guest speakers and opportunities for students to volunteer at area service sites.

In order to make these days a success for our students, we will need parent-volunteers to chaperone at various sites around town. If you are able to help either day, please email Nancy Egbers, anniversary committee representative.

We look forward to celebrating these unique educational days with you and your student this spring. You can expect to receive more detailed information regarding Chaminade and Julie Days, including a schedule of events, later this month.

Sincerely,

The Anniversary Committee

Attention Freshmen Parents

Freshmen received information in homeroom on Tuesday, Feb. 15 regarding CJ's computer skills requirement. Students have two choices to complete this requirement:

  • One choice is to take the semester-long Computer Topics class (usually taken during sophomore year).
  • The second choice is to try to test-out of the class by passing four computer skills tests. The tests cover skills in Keyboarding, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The test-out option is only available to students during their freshman year.

More information on this program, including online training options for students and test dates, may be found on the Business and Technology Department's Web page.

Transcripts will be printed and ready for pick-up each Friday. Please note that current freshman will need a copy of their 8th grade report card for the two years' worth of grades.
