CJ PLTW News
Congratulations to Amy O'Loughlin, CJ Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Sciences teacher, who was selected to be a Core Training Instructor (a.k.a. Master Teacher) for the PLTW Human Body Systems course.
As a Core Training Instructor, Mrs. O'Loughlin will be eligible to train and mentor teachers from around the nation in the Training Institute's mandatory professional development program of PLTW. Learn more about her achievement by visiting our Eagle Pride page.

Guidance Announcements
Office Closed Over Break
There will be no college applications processed over Christmas break as the guidance office will be closed until school resumes on Monday, Jan. 3.
OGT Test Results
OGT test results for juniors and seniors who tested in October have arrived. Students should see their counselor to receive their results.
Guidance Bulletin
The newest Guidance Bulletin (#9) has been posted on Family Connection, the CJ website, and emailed directly to seniors. More scholarship information will be starting to arrive after the holidays. Seniors need to pay close attention to deadlines, available applications, and/or the links included in the bulletins.

Save Your Christmas Cards!
The office of Ministry & Service will be collecting religious Christmas cards this year to donate during the annual summer mission trip to Belize. The goal is to give over 3,000 kids in grades K-8 their first Christmas card next Advent in an effort to help teach them the meaning of the season. New cards are not necessary as the backs will all be torn off and thrown away. You can drop off cards in the office of Ministry & Service any time after the holidays. Thank you for you support!

Student Design Competition
The local chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is sponsoring its annual design competition for high school students in grades 9-12. This year's theme is to design a teen lounge. Complete registration information, rules, and guidelines can be found on the
AIA's Web site. Registration fee is $20, which includes lunch at the first Saturday session and a t-shirt upon completion of the competition.
College scholarships, which are applicable to any college tuition, will be awarded as top prizes.
Prior knowledge of design or architecture is not required, and participating CJ student may use CJ's engineering design lab and Computer-Aided Design software. Please notify Mrs. Draeger or Mr. Young if you wish to use these resources!

UD Pre-engineering Summer CampJune 24-26, 2011
The University of Dayton Pre-engineering Summer Camp is a three-day, two-night, residential camp where students engage in engineering design activities, meet college faculty and students, and interact with peers. The camp is open to freshmen through senior high school students.
The application deadline is April 1, 2011 and space is limited so those interested should register online as soon as possible. There will be a $275 tuition fee to attend; however, a limited number of scholarships are available based primarily on financial need. Scholarship applications can be found by visiting
the camp's Web site.
