It was our great pleasure to welcome Archbishop Dennis Schnurr to Chaminade Julienne on Wednesday. He celebrated Mass with the faculty and staff, joined in morning prayer with Miss Meyers' class, and then discussed the Mission of Catholic school students with members of FLIGHT. He called on our students to take what they learn at CJ and carry it to others beyond the school's four walls.... to be the light in our world to others. After his discussion with our students, he said that it was pretty evident that CJ students are already learning and living out this mission.
The Archbishop's visit was a wonderful lead-in to CJ's celebration of Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 31 - Feb. 6). Events planned for next week will focus on the life and mission of Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN, and how our students can continue living out her dream for social justice for those in our world who have no voice.
