Friday's Panel Weren't Just Spectacular, They Were Riveting!

The last time I spoke with
billionaire Media mogul turned Commercial Developer Robert L. Johnson he told
me how my HIP DVD impressed him. A
billionaire expressing pleasing thoughts of something you created is very nice
but almost nothing is more gratifying than two well versed, well traveled sweet
aged ladies giving a nod of approval to an event you hosted. The Willoughby Sisters were at their absolute
best. They were poised, confident,
motivational and inspiring all at the same time. They could have discussed any of the billions
in family assets but instead Mrs. Edith Tucci set the awe inspiring tone as the
two accepted a pair of Circle of Excellence awards and began her talk by focusing
on their love of God and love of family because that's most important. "The money will come" is what they assured us. After all, our discussion was about
commercial real estate investing but Mrs. McIntosh reminded us, "It's just a
building."
They made everyone feel
important by reminding us that if you think the CEO is the most important, let
the janitor not show up for work. Never
would I have thought that a room filled with tomorrows most elite investors would
be stunned by conversation at an investment event where the subject of money hardly
ever came up. Tears merged at the base
of our chins as so many eyes watered in sheer amazement of uncanny and
unprecedented wisdom. Money without
purpose is superficial riches but partnering with Celebrate Life Foundation
gave The Investment Forum a dedicated purpose.
Investment dollars matter when your uncovered prescription costs over
$800.
Fear not that the panel
was done after the sisters delivered an opening that will never be matched but
following in superstar fashion was a tremendously impressive threesome in David Byrd, Sherman Ragland II and Raynard Jackson.
If you didn't know that Prince
George's was gorgeous before you know it now. What was clearly amazing was that Ragland was
a foreign name to me at 10 am the day of but by 6:30 he was there as a panelist
who helped orchestrate the first few mega deals with Donahue Peebles. Talk about coincidence. He was also there to assist the vision of 7th
& F Street
long before the Spy
Museum came about. His time and attention paid handsomely enough
to afford the love of his life a 6 week worldwide honeymoon. That's reason enough to pay close attention
to his romanticism, business savvy and scholarship. Power Networker William Powell was there to
shake hands and take full advantage of the knowledge transfer.
David Byrd continued to
add to his repertoire of excellence in motivation while assisting Prince George's county in
achieving their triple A Bond rating. He
made it clear that his role was to eliminate bureaucracy so investors could do
the things they needed to do. For years,
he's been involved in politics at the highest level and his arrival to DC was
accidentally no accident.
He made headway and opened
the room for an apostrophe like no other in Mr. Raynard Jackson. There's not enough pages to comment on his
down to earth brilliance as he rose from the "show me" state's back streets to
a commanding presence in the White House.
Some people will like him and others will love him but rest assured he
will not be ignored! With a friend like Jackson, you probably
won't have enemies because he will find away to profit with them in any
weather.
I will have to give first
time VIP honors to a young lady who braved the academic torture of business
school after just a short span of freshly passing the bar exam all after
leaving her home country of Jamaica.
She's Lisa Brodie and we appreciated her as much as she appreciated us
by staying actively engaged until the hotel finally kicked us out. Five hours is by far the shortest Investment
Forum we've ever had and even at 11:30 pm no one wanted to leave.
We look forward to serving
you again for another Forum in the near future but we certainly want to hear
from you in terms of what you'd like to discuss. Mrs. Tucci has proposed that we discuss what
she feels is a major contributor in the credit crunch by looking closer at the
trouble with credit cards. It's a fair
enough assessment even if you're fortunate enough to hold a Black Card, but we
want to hear from you. If Ivy League professors couldn't understand the fine print, how can you? In addition,
Friday was a new day that caught several people off guard because they are used
to Saturday. This really is a democracy so in lieu of the
power of voting, let's take a vote.
On behalf of Anthony "Von" Mickle, Annie Mickle, Johnnie Mickle, Mike Jenkins and Michelle Hannah, we'd like to sincerely thank you for your time and your presence.
