Imagine getting a call from Connie Payton as she informs you that her
husband, legendary NFL Hall of Famer Walter Payton has just died. You give your condolences, say a little prayer and begin to prepare for your trip down south for the home going services.  There are a couple of ways you could get there.  You could drive but that would take a long time.  Another option is to go online and book a flight.  Yet another, more obvious option is to call former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott and tell him you need a jet.  Of course, Mr. Lott would offer his condolences to Mrs. Payton and then tell you no problem and that a Learjet awaits you on the tarmac.  Doesn't the last option just make perfect sense?  Well, actually it doesn't to me or a lot of other people but then again we're not top Washington political strategists.
Meet Raynard Jackson.

When he's not explaining to young NFL players that they shouldn't be
paying wire transfer fees to send money home to their moms when they're giving a six or seven figure opportunity to the bank annually, he's busy brokering deals with sponsors to help them open recreational facilities back in their home towns.  If you want to catch up with him, you'll have to move quickly because he is soon off to Africa to meet with several heads of state.  He probably won't stay there long because some up and coming politician needs a specific strategy on grass roots fundraising.

Even then, that will have to wait because President Bush is having an
event and even Mr. Jackson can't keep the President waiting too long.
After his meeting with the President, he has to begin research on some
guy named Von Mickle to talk about The Investment Forum who's planning to meet in Washington next month.  He'll probably have to ask his admin who he is and what does he want.

I caught up with Mr. Jackson yesterday for lunch and was surprised at
his eagerness to have a copy of my book, but more importantly my
High Impact Presentation DVD.  The DVD easily shows how to get in front of highly successful people, but he's already mastered that. At first I didn't really understand his energy for the DVD but then I thought about it for a minute.  Just because you come up, doesn't mean you don't have to work to stay up.  I give myself credit for knowing a few things but I can't stay cutting edge unless I stay involved.  I can't very well have a successful book of the month club without reading at least one book a month.  I have a 120 inch screen television but I'm generally about as inclined to watch it as the Senate was willing to accept former Attorney General Roland Burris yesterday.  My guess is he'll eventually get in.  Maybe then, I can stay awake in front of the television for more than 10 minutes, relax and figure out why I keep running into people who are so well connected to NFL players despite the fact that I can't name five teams or 10 players without the help of the Internet or ESPN.

Oh well, I guess I'll just work on my introductory statement for when
the current Senate Majority Leader gets a call from me and I ask to use a private jet.  I can just see his response now.  This is Von who and
you want to borrow my what?  Man oh man, I guess the best never rest.  See you on February 13 at The Donovan House.
Sincerely,

Anthony Von Mickle
