Greetings!
The Fourth of July is over and I am already seeing advertising for back to school - time really is flying. After surviving the heat wave last week - we are settling back into our routines.
This month I focused on resources to help you enter into the replacement window debate with information to make the best informed decision to care for your house. Also, the Pennsylvania Preservation Office asked us to include their survey information in our newsletter - they are trying to get as much feedback as possible to plan for the future of preservation in Pennsylvania.
Let me know if there are any topics you would like to see covered or if you have any feedback on this month's newsletter.
All the best,

Original wood windows have character defining historic value: antique (wavy) glass, true divided light, traditional joinery, the mutin profiles and number of window panes help to date the building. In fact a properly maintained wood window with a storm window can be as energy efficient as a replacement window. Here are a few resources to help you keep your wood windows. |

| Pennsylvania Community Preservation Values Survey |
The State Historic Preservation Office asked us for our help getting the word out about the Pennsylvania Community Preservation Values Survey. The goal of the survey to to get as much public input into the preservation plan for 2012-2017.
The survey should take between 5-10 minutes. The PA SHPO assures us that the information is for data collection only and will not be shared with third parties. At this time there is no deadline for survey responses. Thanks for your help! |
