Welcome to Thistledown Shoppe

Greetings!

One of our tenets is loyalty.  To you, our customers, and to our vendors.  Once we find a vendor that gives us great customer service and product, we stay with them.  One of those vendors is Brown Sheep.  We have carried them since we first opened five years ago and consider them our bread and butter. We started out with Lamb's Pride and now have Nature Spun, Cotton Fleece, Burly Spun, Serendity Tweed, and Wildfoote.

Want to know what else we have in stock?  Go to our blog and  scroll down on the right side to Some of What We Carry.

Classes

Magic Loop Socks
Wed 12:30-2:30
Aug 15, 22, 29

$40. total

Socks are one of the most easy and portable projects ever. Betsy is a master at this craft and she will introduce you to the wonderful world of the Magic Loop.

You must be able to cast on, knit, and purl.

You will learn how to create a sock using a long circular needle.

You will decrease, turn the heel, and pick up stitches. These techniques can be applied to any sock pattern.

Materials needed: 32" or 40" circular needle and yarn - will be addressed during the first class.

Please note: you must pay the class fee in advance to register for the class, either in person or with a credit card over the phone. Classes are non-refundable and non- transferable.

Materials are separate from the cost of the class. A 10% discount will be given for material purchase.

 Inspiration.  Motivation.  Wine.  Laughter.  Conversation.

Jessica Carden sent us an invite for Monday 6/25/12 at 6pm

"Knit-in for the NICU" at my house at 890 E Narlock, under the willows (bring a beach chair).

Call 231.590.9853 to RSVP.

We are knitting 14x17" baby blankets for the little ones to be able to bond with mom's scent.

Community yarn is available, but any soft blend with a gauge small enough for teeny fingers (or wires& tubes) to not get stuck, will be welcome.

Some are coming to learn, some are coming to help raise $ for American Cancer Society Relay 4 Life in Suttons Bay at the end of the month (where I'll be knittin' all night @ the camp-out).

So... if you want to come over, we're knittin' till we can't see our stitches: maybe 10?

Jesse says no shop-lights or headlamps - it's a 'schoolnight'!

Free Patterns

French Stripe dishcloth - worsted weight cotton in two colors, a little knitting, and you have a cute and useful dishcloth.

Pistache - Knit a cute shrug for a little girl sizes 2 yrs to 8 yrs. Ultra Pima, Loyal, and Tonic are our suggestions.  Ravelry pattern.

1959 Baby Jacket - Sweet vintage baby jacket.  Knit it out of a DK weight yarn such as Ultra Pima, Tonic, and Loyal,    Ravelry pattern.

Boneyard Shawl - I saw this shawl last week knitted in
Wolle's Yarn Creations Color Changing Cotton. Because of that I have ordered the yarn for the shoppe (it should arrive the middle of July) and also started a shawl in Firefly for me.  Euroflax Linen
would also be great for a cool shawl for summer.  The pattern is by Stephen West on Ravelry.

Lavender Sachet - we have the lavender and Cotton Fleece to knit this scented sachet.
